My stem has turned a purplish red. Is that fue to a magnesium dificiency or a phosferus dificiency? If it is a magnesium dificiency may i use epsom salt to correct that. If so how many spoon fools per gallon? Thanks

Sounds like to much phosphorus? What kind of nutes are you using and how much?

It would be a good idea to post a pic and mention what stage of growth they are in. Someone might misdiagnose your problem.
