my WW is 6 weeks into flower this coming wednesday, so why am i already seeing clear trichomes ?

is she premature ?

having said all that, just seen i might be in for a 2/3 week wait, lol

sorry guys

New trichs are produced all the time, so there will pretty much always be a few clear ones. Some strains take a lot longer than 8 weeks, so I recommend judging harvest time by the % of amber trichs.

One of my white widows did that in the past. It is nothing to be alarmed with. Rate of production of trichroems is strain dependant as well as grower dependant.
And depending on the overall high you are achieving then its up to you when to harvest. In a representative section milky white trichromes leans to a head high...amber ones lean to body high. Most of the white widows I have done in the past I went 10 weeks. If your that patient enough might wanna suggest doing that because youll see the amount of sugar it will have from that extra week.

here is some of mine .. after drying ... notice I have boath amber and clear ..

I know the pics is`t the best .. but damn hard to take good pics through a 100x micro ..

after advice from a friend I did prepare for haverst when I saw fist amber thricome .. preparing = a littel flush and only clean water for a week ..

after that week I had like 5% Amber .. and after 48 hrs dark time maybe 10% ..

now after a week of drying I have atlest 20% amber .. and I still have atlest two weeks of cureing .. allready nice smoke ..

note: I like mine smoke some wher in between a high and a stone ..

so I need some amber but not to many .. maybe 30% amber 20% clear and rest milky .. so to speak ..
so some might go a littel longer and some will haverst a littel early then me ..

and as Hugo say .. New trichs are produced all the time .. and ther is also a diffrent between top and bottom buds .. so its all about finding the right time wher top buds is well mature and rest is close .. I guess evrybody have to try for them self and find out what is best for them ..

hes asking y he sees them "ALREADY" . and yes u are correct new trichs being produced constantly.

the reason you are seeing trichs this early is because of your strain. I am in week four of flower and ive been seeing trichs for about a week now on my purple wrecks

thanks guys, can i also ask about auto flower ?

hows that work ? ill be using 2 250 cfl lamps, when the plants decide to turn, question is will i just change over to my hps lamp after a certain amount of time, for example 10/ 12 weeks ? and then add my bloom nutes ?

I read it that way too, but I thought "nahh...he can't mean that". Now if he had said "6 days", that would be a bit different. Some of my plants produce trichs before showing any pistils, which is weird because they take forever to mature.

as far as i know autoflowers run at 18/6 and treat it just as a normal plant. when its vegging give veg nutes, when you start seeing good flower formation then switch the nutes to bloom. and the same thing for the lights. but i would just throw it under the HPS now and the whole way through

yeh i might give it a go under the hps on 18 / 6 from the start.

trouble is ive got a flower room and a veg room, was gonna start her off under the cfls for a few weeks while i finish flowering the widow.

you think itll be ok to start off under the cfls for say 3 weeks, then flip her into the hps room ?

yea that should be just fine. autoflowers typically take bout 70 days from start to finish. just make sure you have it in a large pot while under those CFL so that the root system can expand rapidly. more roots more bud. bigger roots bigger bud. I am currently growing my seedlings under CFL while i am waiting to finish something out too. check out my links and grow.

On most 7-8 week strains I go 9-10 weeks. It's normal depending on environmental conditions. Trichomes begin much earlier then 6 weeks.
They can stay clear a good month or more before you see any change in color to cloudy and then sometimes to amber.
Keep those WWs going until you see some amber glands, whether it's 5% or 50% amber is all personal choice. I've harvest sometimes with ZERO amber, some strains will not amber, some only go cloudy.
You are much better off starting your flower timing when the first white pistils show rather then when you switched to 12/12. And do not be afraid to let a plant go over the recommended flower times.

well since last week, i now have a 50/50 mix of clear/cloudy, so im knocking back on the bio heaven and top mix, just gonna stick with regular feeds, as soon as i see even 1% amber im giving her plain water for one week, then chopping, this weds is 7 weeks.
