Which Strain Holds Its Weight After Drying

We have all had the feeling. You spend hours chopping your loved ones. You admire the size of the buds with a massive smile on your face. 3 days later you have a look and your thinking who the hell has stolen all your bud. lol

So I thought, lets find the golden egg. Lets find the strain that loses the less amount of weight.

Now a certain member who will not be named(DST) reckons it will be some sort of Powerplant or Big Bud.

So lets say we all weigh 10g of our strains as soon as they are chopped(bud only, no stems)and compare final weights when dry..........

Lets find this egg:-P

Not a bad idea, but from person to person, different feedings and what have you, it'll be kind of hard to tell. If it was a nice steady environment for all strains that would make it a lot easier (possible?).

Would be interested to know what comes up though.

I know there are alot of variables but lets see which strain comes up a winner the most

The general rule I follow is the final weight will be circa 75% less than its fresh harvest weight, with that 75% extra weight consisting of water.

It is depressing ... 100g harvest, 25g smokable, lol

Yeah I understand that but Im trying to find a strain that losses less than 70%......theres got to be one out there. Ive got UK clone only psychosis on the go at the moment, Ill post the results in about 11 weeks

Plus the end results can be skewed based on if you watered the plant the day before harvest, or not etc.

The person who doesn't dry their buds to the proper RH for curing will have the least amount of weight lost lol. We've ran 40+ strains and they ALL come in somewhere between 15-25% of their original weight, and the ones on the higher end at 25% are always wetter going into jars. It seemed like 18% remaining was the magic # at a proper level for curing.

I did some nirvana WW once, never weighed before and after, but these were definatly the most dense heavy buds I have ever done.Which is probably why the fucker kept getting bud rot, even when I dropped the humidity right down. These buds were like fucking sponges!,soaking up all that moisture.
An eigth looked like a gram!.This shit was heavy wet and dry,no scientifics to back it up though, and would guess it probably did lose the normal amount.
