I don't post on forums, mainly because I'm a sketch. But I have read so many posts that hate on pre-fab grow boxes that I wanted to share my success. Here are a few pics from my second grow...EVER;

I almost decided not to buy this thing because of all the negativity about these types of systems. Too expensive, can build one better, the companies are a bunch of scammers, read it all. Amazing how people have such strong opinions on a product they've probably never used. I'm sure that some in here can build their own system, maybe even a better one than I bought, but that doesn't work for everyone.

I got 14oz my first run using just base nutrients, then busted out the additives my second run which you see above and pulled 19oz! Best thing I ever did for myself, so I'm here to ENCOURAGE other noobs to trust their gut...whether that means building one or buying a pre-fab system...avoid the noise and go for it!

Alot of people are just jelly and can't afford one lol... so its easier to call the companies scammers and such.
 
Yeah from my first DWC, from 3 plants i pulled over half lb so growing is funn. I like your setup. What nutrients and lights do you use bud
??
 
That's a nice box, there was a steel cabinet led model I was eyeballing for a while. I built my whole TV box for less than $300
 
Hell yeah dude, that's a nice grow! I love grow boxes. I bought my first one, but I've been building my own since then.

would you like me to teach you how to build a cab for half the price that is 100% better? and 50% cheaper? pre-fab growboxs are like buying aqaurium stands prebuilt for you. they charge an arm and a leg for a product you can build yourself for half.
 
Am I the only one that thinks this poster is an owner employee of said company where item was purchased? Fucking laugh of a ripoff and there is no where near 19 oz in that thing unless you like to weigh it wet! Get excited! Seriously there's about $300 max in that cabinet.

Thanks! half p from three plants is sweet, props for that...all it takes is a little TLC right? I'm running Botanicare CNS17 base, sweet raw, hydroplex, silica, and cal mag plus.

Well said...doing it properly has a lot to do with it as well. It is a bit of work to maintain and you certainly have to be committed to get your money's worth. Definitely enjoyable work though :)

Nice set up D3monic, how do you like that LED? Was that included in the $300 you're referring to? Would love to play with one if they're not that expensive...

That's a kind offer Mr Ganja, but I have mine now...I did quite a bit of digging and figured with all the parts/accessories/nutrients it would have cost somewhere around $1700-2000 plus my time and headaches. would love to hear how I could make it better though. Please share, would love to increase my yield!

Its bright as hell and yea, thats included in the $300 I found it on craigslist for $150 in one of the worst neighborhoods I have ever been in. But it was totally worth the risk of getting robbed.

I haven't grown anything with it as I just finished my build last night but I'm about to order some seeds so we shall see how she does.

Haha, guess you fall into the "haters" category.

First off, I don't weigh wet and you bet your ass there was 19oz in there. A little more than 3oz a plant. Secondly, you clearly haven't seen the system I'm growing in. If you can build the same thing for me, I'll pay you twice the "$300 max" you say is in the system...shit, I'll give you four times the money! Lastly, even if I did get "ripped off", what's it to you? I'm happy and it's already paid for itself so piss on someone else's grow eh?

Oh, and no I don't work for the company.

Add maybe another 150 for the odds and ends and kindergarten hydro bucket and you're at 450 max. Like I said your harvest weights are total fucking lies. I guess you're really going for the noobs cuz anyone who's grown more than about 2 plants in their life could see you're way off. You got at best 6 oz from there and I'm being generous. Good luck peddling your crap

Alright smart guy...the "kindergarten" hydro bucket or as some people call it a botanicare turbo garden set up alone retails for $400. $150 for the a decent metal box? I'd love to see that. You didn't mention the duct fan, filter, duct muffler, pH/tds pens, intake prefilter, wheels, GFI power strip etc. Not to mention that I would have to buy the tools to build it. MY TIME is worth some damn money too. So you're saying the best anyone can hope for under a 600w light running hydro is 1oz per plant? Sounds like you should work on your grow skills.

Like I said in the beginning...if YOU can build one...GREAT, go for it and more power to you. I COULD NOT, so I decided to buy one. Why does that bother you so much? This is exactly why I posted this thread...
