might wanna keep a eye open for bud rot on the early bloomers with the rain and all. Spoken from experience.
I think the heat and sun would cause more oils and such as the plant protects itself. Just my opinion, though.

I was worried about fungus but they weren't that far along and it's dryer now. The nice thing about 100 degrees is water dries so fast. If it picks back up I'll throw some plastic over the top. I also hope the teas (foliar apps.) are helping there.

I've heard about the "oils" increasing with the sun/uv but don't know if it is true. Contrarily, I believe someone (sorry, will find who it was EDIT; it was kill your ego) on my thread mentioned using shade cloth reduces the total yield but improves quality. This sounds likely due to uv deterioration but don't know for sure.

there may be a trade off...
more sun increasing chem profile while breaking it down at the same time...we need a controlled study.

UV rays degrade thc its in jorges book.
just sprouted sensi critical star and autoryder
put samsara seed mosca sweet tooth and dinafem deisel i think in GH rooter tray
potted eva white widow utopia haze and pandora in 1gals of roots 707 then sprayed with technaflora organic B-1 solution and turned on my 60watt cfl for the newly planted.. just put in seeds 4 days ago and critical sensi star is already one of the beefyest sprout stems I've ever scene

Not very scientific but trichome production is predominantly in the fall. Sun exposure is shorter, the uv is less due to the sun's lower angle, and the temps are lower. All of these factors would reduce deterioration to the oils. At the same time, might it affect positive changes?

I thought it increased trichomes while the plant flowers and degrades it after it gets chopped. That is what I was taught many moons ago.

I'm referring to my grow conditions. While trichome production may increase, I'm thinking my area's sun is just too much. My grow is mostly under shade cloth with the edges exposed in some areas. The more exposed areas just looked a little more beat up this last week after the monsoon weather cleared away. I tightened up the edges and added a missing piece to the open west end and it sure feels better in there now. By that I mean the conditions are better for this type of plant. I'm basing that statement on my experiences in the hort world and lots of supposition!

I heard something like that too but if uv rays degrade a molecule i doubt it makes a difference living or not. I remember reading about turning off the light during the last few days before chop to make it more potent.
but i wondered if uv degrades thc why are they putting it in lights on purpose now so it really is a conundrum
ok i just read that UVB is good for increasing potency
