personally, i would go 4 under each....but that is just me....i keep my plants short, and flat.....as far as pruning leaves, i prune heavy, i just wait until two weeks after bud-set before i remove
anything.....if i had the space, and 1K's....i would stick 4 under each, and they would all look like this 2 weeks into bloom....hope that gives you an idea....nugs:leaf:

Although I really should have 1000 watters, it does very well with 600's. A friend of mine once told me , lollipop until you feel like you've done way too much and then go back and do some more. I like to do it all the way through veg and through the first cpl weeks of flower. You're not going to hurt the plant, it keeps rolling. After over a year of lollipopping undergrowth I'm finally learning how aggressive I have to be. Or rather, I'm finally willing to spend the time necessary to train and lollipop the plants, which takes time!

right.....i like to look at it this way.....i am a COLA grower.......so i build a structure that can grow and support huge colas.....sativa dom. plants will usually have a lot more secondary branching....through main-lining and selective pruning, i will still try and grow dominant colas.......check out the monster dicks on the Ace far right!

:leaf:in small pots....like 5-10 gal....if you are pushing an ounce per cola....you are on the right track as far as i am concerned!:leaf:

You seem to be on the right track my friend. I have a quick question. I took my clones and I pulled the 2 growths down for the main hub. Well on one of my plants it sort of tore @ the base of the 2 new growths. I stood them up and taped them. Will they fully recover. The thing is on the side that wasn't torn I am seeing more growth than the half of them that was torn. SO I tore both growths @ the exact same place: Proximal tearage of the base right by the main stump if you will. Do they repair from that? Fully? What should I expect and when would a good time be to try and lay them down again?

they will be fine....just give them time to stretch out a bit, then pinch/bend/bond at a new spot....

OK cool thanks! Now that's even if it is at the very bottom of the growth. If I would have torn them all the way they would have come completely off the plant no sign of growth.

what a page :) nice pics nuggs. Gotta love them Colas :p make way for the colas! cause thats all we want! good work i love your style, excellent usage of sun and lamp! good to see more and more people understanding the nature of these plants and how we can cheat them into producing thicker bud

Random thoughts from the Lab......

i think growers need to realize the problems container stress can cause....any time you get a root spiral in a small hard pot, you have a concentrated root mass of feeder roots packed in a small area.....they are at the bottom of the container where any imbalances are intensified big time....PH, PPM, salts etc......some plants are more sensitive to these imbalances, and throw nanners and pollen sacks because they are freaking out thinking that they are going to die soon........this is a totally natural process, but so many growers want to blame the breeder for unstable genetics...but it is simply a survival mechanism that ALL strains have......and it often happens around week 4 of flower, when the root mass is done growing, and the plant realizes that she is bound, and is ultimately going to die sooner than she thought......imho, switch to smart pots.....you will be amazed at the lack of problems just by focusing on root spiriling/container stress alone....good growing brothers and sisters!.....nugs:leaf:

I love how the root hairs poke out of the smart pots. I can see them all over the pot so I know they are spreading out nicely.

I have the 7 gal smarties sitting in a larger galvanized tub on a bed of pummice for drainage and air. As a bonus, this configuration allows me to flood the container and water the sides of the smartie. She seems to be loving the attention - she grew three inches in the last day!
