six weeks in and i have a question about trichomes

thats whats up. wanna hear something crazy? Ive been growing this purplewreck strain for close to eight months now, because i love it wont let it go, but it grows so many ttichs. I am currently on day 31 of flowering and the trichs are hella purple. now i seen this before but closer to harvest. they still have roughly 25 days left.

well ill keep my eye on here daily, like i say , as soon as i see amber, im stopping the feeding for a week, ill keep you updated , and maybe ill add some pix by the end of the week :)

ive also started a thread on 24 hr lighting on auto flowers :)

no replys yet tho :(

well im still checking, shes fully loaded with trichs but so far, no amber, my eyes are on her daily, lol

not had a smoke for 9 weeks now :(

Have you ever grown before? I have trichomes by week 3-4 on every strain I've ever done. It's normal. I'm on day 46 flower(from first sign of pistils not 12/12 switch) of one strain thats going to be a half pounder and I'm already seeing amber trichs. The earlier you see clears the better. I love frost.

yeh ill get a photo or 2 and yeh ive ''grown before''

the last WW i did was 3 times bigger, but my next 3 seeds will be better as i now have a fully functional ph meter LOL

you think itll be ok to start off under the cfls for say 3 weeks, then flip her into the hps room ?

I have done a few autos...I just leave them in veg since they need 18/6 or better throughout...and that is what the veg tent is set to...

onle a few days from stopping nutes? isnt it almost harvest time for ya? my harvest date is Sept 7 and i stopped nutes already.

well im hoping to see some amber sunday/ monday , so ill feed once more on saturday then hopefully, just water for a week, that takes her right up to the start of week 9 for the chop.

Clear trichomes contain pre-cursor cannabinoids which are not psychoactive (you cannot get high off of smoking/eating them).
Amber trichomes contain degraded THC --> CBN. There is a loss of about 90% potency (psychoactivity if you will) from cloudy trichomes to amber.

Clear and amber trichomes are both highly undesirable in any grow.
Clear because they are underdeveloped and have no effect whatsoever.
Amber because they are 90% less potent than cloudy trichomes.


You seem to have misunderstood the science behind trichomes and cannabinoids.

this is what im doing and what i did last time, you almost confused me.

5% clear trichomes, 10% amber and 85% cloudy trichomes.

also, sunday is day 60 of bloom, im starting to think that if i start to flush now, say for 6 - 9 days , the plant will be more or less where i want her to be, as far as clear / cloudy / amber goes, thoughts please ?
