Yield Qustions

To my knowledge after reading some of the specifics on lighting, I've come to the conclusion that more light = more yield. I am starting my first grow(organic) in a relatively small closet space hopefully within the month on a SERIOUS budget. I plan on growing two plants and my main thing is that i want each plant to yield AT LEAST 5-7 oskies. from what i have been seeing no matter how good your fluorescent lights are or your setup is you will only get 1-2 o's using cfls/fluorescents. i have SEVERAL questions. has anybody gottten a decent 5 O yield using a fluorescent/cfl setup and how did you achieve that. also, what is the minimum amount of wattage i can use that will give me a decent yield if i do decide to go with a MH/HPS setup. and where can i find that for under $100? I'm pushing for the stars but i'm on probably on a $200 budget for seeds, soil, nuts, lights, n other miscellaneous. help a dreamer get what he wants

yea iveg to a decent 5 zip s but not on one plant if you can control the eht go for hps you can get that kinda yield with two plants in 10 gallon tubs under a 600w

like i said i want to shoot for the stars so i would LOVE to get 5 bags per plant. would the size of the pot i.e 5 gallon bucket/pot affect growth or yield? would multiple cfl's make a difference or should i just shell out the money for a single hps for what i want to achieve?

no offense but you aint unna get 5 bags a plant bro not with cfls youll need a 10 gallon pot and a 600w hps to get 5 oz plants and even then you got to know what your doing when growing them to get the best yield

Start small get the basics down. If this is your first grow i would highly recommend using T5 high output lights, just because they are very simple. Low heat and they give off good lumens. Hps is going to give you the best yields but you need to know what you are doing to have a successful grow...That means good ventilation, proper height of the light( you don't want to kill the plants) etc.... I have never used hps/mh lights so i don't know much about them, but what i stated is true. With T5 lights you probably won't need to worry about heat unless its a very small space, but then even still you could probably get away with no ventilation(i've done it before). But at the very least you should get a fan circulating the air in the grow space. To keep it real you will be lucky to get 5 o's for the whole grow, which is still good. You need alot more light to get 5oz per plant. Another thing if you only have 200$ to spend on the whole grow your money is pretty much going to be used up if you purchase that light plus seeds....Which means you won't have money for odor control. So if you plan on using no carbon filter/fan then you better use a low odor strain Such as northern lights or C99. Good luck

A 400w can give some pretty impressive results for the amount of money...I mean it isn't a 1000w but I have a 400w and they are enough...I can have 3 plants that all yield 3 oz with only minimal veg time.

I started with CFLs and once I stopped killing the plants and had that part down I realized that I would never get what I was expecting with the lights I was using...so I got good lights, and now couldn't be happier.
