Huh? there is that subtle difference, the DOI is one long whiny complaint. I am always reminded of conservatives when I read it. Of course the reality of the document is that we were complaining because we wanted to tax ourselves and England wouldn't let us. In short, we fought the revolutionary war over our demand that we be able to tax ourselves.

Tell that to a Tea Party person and watch the bubbles form on his scalp.

Just a thought.....
Something is missing here. In a country where you as an individual can even break the law, your freedom extends to the proceedural. You are to one extent or another on an equal footing with the government that enacted those laws. You are afforded the ability to defend yourself on a relatively level playing field such that the penalties for your having voluntarily and knowingly broken a law are somewhat manageable. Great country.

We are reserved the right to own weapons and to protect ourselves from invasion. Be it a corrupt government or a foreign one, and home invaders. Mass killings aren't because of guns, but because of the people behind them.

Wiki answers.... Per the Center for Disease Control, latest figures (2005) show 30,694 firearm deaths (all races, all ages, both sexes) in the United States.
Since a firearm is an inanimate object, it can not be the sole creator/ root cause of a death as it must be handled by a person in order to be fired.
A more accurate description is approximately 16,000 suicides using a firearm
Approximately 12,252 murders by firearms 80% of which are caused by felons/career criminals/gang member activities. USDOJ National Gang Threat Assessment annual report 2009
Approximately 600 justifiable defensive shootings by both police and citizens.
The remainder in accidental firearms discharges

Anyways, big pharm is pumping out pills through the FDA that cause around 80k deaths a year and left around 500k people in serious condition. Lets hear some screams about reform in the FDA!

You are going to protect yourself from foreign invasion are you? Or a corrupt government? you really figure that you stand a chance against this country should you be so inclined to do so?

If you were at a fortified position all sand bagged in with a 50 cal - browning M-2 or similar weapon that could shred police cars they would still get you eventually.

who the fuck is going to stay in their house if the government announces that they are coming for citizens' arms? i'm going out to the forest. no military in the world could stomp out a motivated, stick and move guerrilla enemy in Appalachian Mountain territory, the land of 10,000 lakes, the Louisiana bayou, and the list goes on. one side is fighting for their paycheck, the other side is fighting for their freedom.
