Its a foolish thing to think as a person that you would know better.It blinds the ability to learn new viewpoints,America has this problem in abundancy,blinded perspectives by the media,the average person no longer thinks for themselves while constantly being barraged by the sales pitch and political conjecture on the tv and the actual lack of true journalism in our news reporters these days,.How can the American know better?By not thinking he or she knows at all and to not believe what is hearsay.

Maybe we just naturally practice layers and layers of foolishness, because we can. Many countries in the 1st world, don't have a Constitution.

They have no idea what certain inalienable rights, even are. We are brought up to believe it, to see it in action, to learn the truth of the short-comings and truth of it's power. So, in that way, we are better.....off.

How about we are as good as anybody else but certainly no better? And many Americans do think "we" are better or chosen by "God" to walk among the Blessed. Think not? Everytime somebody sees a clip of something in the news showing turmoil or scandal abroad and says "Look at those dumb f'ers, that wouldn't go here in America" or "Americans would never be as dumb as those f'ers!" (au contraire as I know some so stupid they would starve to death in a strawberry patch.)

I'll cut to the chase on this - ever hear anybody say "Dumb Mexicans"? Oh hell yes you have if you live in America. This country is as racist as the next. Racists believe they are better than the race they think they despise. Not all Americans are racists or nationalists. Some are just overzealous "patriots".

I am a former US Marine and damned proud of it. If I was a young man again I would join them again. I loved to fight and so did they. They taught me that peace is supreme.

but i think IF patriotism, as a frame of mind, could be dispelled completely from our brains. we would be much happier and progressive as a species.

However patriotism, pride in one's tribe, is a basic, ingrained human quality. To remove it is to introduce a utopian element, "let's change this bit of reality to accommodate a lovely theory", that characterizes every progressive political philosophy I've thus far encountered. The problem is that too many people have been fed too much bullshit in any country. The world isn't run by governments anymore. It's run by the Big Bankers. The Rothchilds and the Rockefellers. Those with the big money control what those with the little or no money see, hear, eat, and believe. It's all propaganda fueled by hatred. There are Spetznaz officers being stationed in US bases around the country. Why? Because we are on the brink of total annihilation. The failing economies around the globe are being pushed further into debt. Food surpluses are being bought up by outside countries. Once one economy fails, rioting will begin across the globe. There will be little to no food to be had. People will be forced into these FEMA camps to find refuge. Think this is all just a bunch of paranoid conspiracy theory? I urge you all to do some research and open your minds. This shit is real and if we don't speak up as human beings (forget nationalites and the like), we will be doomed to live in a utopian oligarchy, where our lives will be miserable. I was just musing over a rather sober thought I've been getting more and more frequently these past years about the Jews who knew to get the fuck out of Germany in time and how if something similar were in fact to happen here that I should have the foresight myself and the ability to get all my loved ones out also.

People dismiss that we are becoming a Police State or excuse me that we are a Police State and the laws that prove it like a political dissident being labeled a terrorist and all the fun that comes along with that. You can gain insight into your question by asking it of yourself. Everyone thinks they have good reason to say they know better than others. What makes yours correct?

I think you could make a good argument that we are opertating as a plutocracy, perhaps even gravitating to a police state, But which law is it that makes political dissent a terrorist act?

Government wise what do you guys think would be the best place to move? I'm thinking new zealand they pay you to live there apparently

My plan is Costa Rica, good economy but with a low standard of living. You can live comfortably off $900/mo I think because of this is why it is a big place for Americans to retire to. I've also heard the gov is much much better. I figure if not I head
south then east or west and then north- New Zealand does sound nice for sure!
