So this is when it becomes important to understand that Russians/Foreign/Trump trolls have been hammering this website nonstop for years now. People here have been dealing with a steady cycle of
1. Troll becomes obvious and continually pointed out as being a troll and after a couple weeks of crying about how unfair everything is to them here, they stop posting.
2. A couple days later a couple 'new' accounts pop up usually one with low posts/newer account and a 2nd 'well known' member (btw I never looked at why the 'well known' is given, but it doesn't matter, trolls are now 'renting' accounts across the internet from better known people on the websites they want to troll.
3. Everything starts well enough, they seem rational if maybe a little troll like here and there, people try to have discussions with them, but something slips and the more experienced members latch onto it.
4. Trolls won't use the 'ignore' button, because that defeats the point. So a troll will become more and more obvious as someone trolls them because they cannot disengage.
5. But I try to understand it could just be the right wing troll programming affecting real people so I try to keep engaged, but eventually a real troll will just ignore any posts that try to have a discussion or just cherry pick a point here and there to troll on it.
6. Eventually they will just quit posting and a couple days later, what do you know a couple new members join up and instantly find the politics section.

Rinse and repeat....

I am not sure how this all ends, but the right wing information bubbles need to be popped. There are information bubbles on the left too, the Russians have us sorted in nice little piles to have the greatest impact with their propaganda.

I'd believe Trump trolls run around stirring the pot on various forums, because the liberal tears agenda is their entire schtick, but I doubt Russian Facebook type of efforts are working their way here. I don't how to convince anyone I'm not any of those things, mostly because I don't like posting too much personal info on the webs. I lived in the valley for decades before moving up to the sticks. I miss Starbucks and Chipotle. I miss the old Tower Records and now I miss Dimples. Umm..there a sushi joint in Roseville the fam likes to go to. My mom got sick and was at Kaiser Vacaville, then Morse Ave. There's an old Leatherby's over by Morse Ave, or at least there used to be. I also don't use the ignore button, but it's because I don't like the idea of shaping the information I receive into just the things that I like, because that's just as bad as anything else, imo.

A pot website that has about 500-1000 'people' on it at all times.

Weed laws bring voters, and in a lot of the battle ground states is a ballot issue frequently. I started reading this site when cannabis became legal in Michigan in 2008. Anything with voters is going to attract Russian/foreign/Trump bot trolls. Especially in battle ground states, when all the Russians have to do is download the names Trump gave them into a program to crawl the internet and find out everything that those people they need to sway are doing/saying online and attack them with what ever bubble nonsense they are quick to fall for .

Then as people simply look at the politics section, what are they almost guaranteed to see? FISA nonsense, Tusli 2020, and Political memes. Giving the casual person at least a mental hardening to those being real.
