I will partially agree with SSB. I have heard using molasses too late into flowering can give a bland/plain taste to the buds......never heard about smell, or can't recall hearing about it. But I have heard the bland/plain taste from more than one experienced grower

I am confused on how you give measurements for the molasses for your plants. Are those for my 3 footers or my 10 footers?
Shit, who knows? That is up to you lol. I give all my plants the same. 1 tablespoon per gallon of water about every 6th watering or so. I used to do every other watering but I am now using SW extract as well

never heard of the milk drenching, will have to ask my uncle about that one... i can almost guarantee that even if he doesnt do it he can tell me why ur neighbor probably does. and i have done my research on flushing, its quite simple actually... if its anything but plain water its not flushing. so any "experienced" grower who tells u they flush with molasses probably isnt all that experienced. and i dont know if my uncle is right or wrong, its kind of a hard theory to prove because there are so many things that can affect smell. the only way to really tell is to run a side by side with everything the same except one getting molasses and the other not. im pretty sure someone ran that experiment last year here in the outdoor section but one of the plants didnt get as much light as the other so that also factors in and can sway results. ima try to find that post, it was the dude who slept in his van in his backyard watchin his plants.

Lastl year I grew Herijuana IBL, it was my first time growing, i had been reading but not enough. I started using molasses every watering at 3-4 tablespoons/gal , everything was fine, i was amazed at how frosty & pretty it looked, i remember wk 4 that it was putting out so much resin that the buds looked like water was dripping from them. The problems started at wk 5 when i watered , the plant looked like it was turn darkening & over a period of wk & a 1/2 the buds were swelling but they were turning brown like a shitty brown color. I wish i would've started out @ RIU because the most of the ppl that posted on opengrow didnt kno the half of what they were talking about, as a matter of fact if anybody kno UMFreak, Reallate1,Maverick u can tell them i said they can sincerely kissmyass & make it sound like one word. But Mister Dirt is a cool ass dude, & there's a few others, But kina wish when i got banned from opengrow i coulda reenacted the scene from Half Bake,,, Fuck You, Fuck You, Fuck You, ,, you're Cool! The first pic was the last pic b4 it started turning colors & the last pic was about week after the first 1. Also in the last pic the buds hadn't even started swell but most of the pistils had changed to red or brown.

Sucks man, but im confused...why did this happen and were you able to fix it? Lol btw 3-4 TABLEspoons of molasses every watering is way too much bro. It's supposed to be more like 1-2 TEAspoons every other or every other other watering. I use it once a week. Imma try one plant all the way through harvest with 2tsp/week and my other plant 2tsp/week up to week 4 as SSB recommended.

your feeding the soil not the plant... guessing you measure for soil.

I dont do more then 1tblspoon per gal and half per plant more then every 20-30 days

lemme know how that works out... like i said before i was told that it can negatively affect smell i use to use it all the way up to the last week and i cant tell the difference now that i cut it off before then. the only difference is i save some molasses and a lil bit of work now. i just go wit my uncles advice and ive heard it from a few other people too, only older folks tho might i add. and thats the reason i believed them is because the only people i know that use molasses are older folks so i figured they would know when not to use it. most new school growers use some carbo load or watever and just follow the directions. and of course the directions r gonna tell u to use it as much as possible so u run out faster and have to buy more. i think less is more most of the time when it comes to nutes and additives.
