Moebius, your home made essential oil stuff is really cool. I don't worry much about odor myself, my neighbors are a couple hundred feet away and the few visitors I have have been around me for a long time and have been in my closet. Plus I have a CF. But the fact that you can make it at home and customize the scent to your noses liking is really neat. +rep if it lets me.

Wattsaver, I would recommend supercropping over topping. The plant's height is immediately altered like it is in topping but the stress is far less. The plant recovers very quickly, and if it continues to grow, you can continue to supercrop it over and over again. Plus, it's a lot of fun and you might find your self bending over random plants as you walk by them in the park after you do it. You could probably repeatedly supercrop the plant until it shows pistils and do it little harm.

Everyone, where can I go (on the internet I mean) to see the actual breeder's behind the companies. I would like to see these guys, and hear what they have to say, because who the breeder is as a person is as important to me when choosing strains as what the plant is like. I watched "Strain Hunters" and then saw Arjan on Drugs INC. on Nat Geo, and now I know I probably won't ever order from greenhouse. (No offense Moeb) The guy is an arrogant dick, like a head chef at a gourmet restaurant. He acts like he's the only guy in the world growing indoors and crossbreeding marijuana strains. All the other guys with him on strain hunters are pretty fucking douche-y. And he pretty much runs things like a corporation. He seems like a great businessman, but I don't want to buy my seeds from a businessman, I want to buy them from a great breeder that seems in touch with his plants. Guys like that make the magical strains. Subcool is a total fucking hillbilly, which I would've never guessed from his posts here but the youtube videos gave him away, but that man loves his weed, he loves to smoke his weed, and that is what drives how he grows and breeds his weed. Those are the people that I want selling me my seeds.

If you want I will edit the last part of that post out and move it to a new thread, that is a whole conversation on it's own and has nothing to do with Hempy. My bad.

Its your thread too Georgyboy .. all your contributions are welcome!

Thanks Moe for the info on terpenes. I'd like to find some info on the actual evap temp on the terps. I know many are relatively low, like 80 (27c). I've argued this point with oil makers who all heat and whip their oil products. I extract when its cool outside in small batches and leave it in a thin film for a wk maybe 2, then scrap it up. When its kept cool during the whole process, the flavor is incredible, not just your basic hash, but floral, & citrus, and many I can't describe. I met a oil producer for a dispensary system, and he did his whole process at 60 degrees and used fresh cut un-cured buds.

Question for those who have 12/12 from clone experience. I've got a volunteer ready I think, she's 10 days from cutting and has a decent set of root. Is this too early for 12/12??

Nope not too early Watts.. You will have to water every day until roots hit, but mine worked out just fine going from Just Sprouted Roots right into 2liter 12/12. Took her about a week to hit the res.

Hi all, just found this thread. I dropped soil last year (5 grows ago) and went straight into coco hempy's after reading Dalhi Hempy's teachings on various forums. I saw he eventually moved from perlite to coco for various reasons so I just skipped the perlite learning's an went with straight Canna coco coir up top with #3 perlite (1/4" chunky) in the 2" res. Geez...was I surprised ....I started with 3.5g black buckets and actually overgrew my tent's light height capability with some DinaFem "Sweet Deep Grapefruit". I repeated the grow with 2g black buckets and a few other changes and perfection for my area was achieved. Since I moved to 2g buckets I get a consistent 3oz. per plant under a 400w HPS or 2 -180W ProSource Jumbo LED's....it doesn't matter which setup I use. I also can attest to growing 2 auto-flowering varieties to ~38" tall with the same 3oz yield for each. This is a nice yield for the work I put in..I don't even check pH anymore using RO water. I don't worry about root rot or pythium either and I live in a hotter than fuck climate. My attempts at hydro in the past failed there miserably. I first started with the Lucas formula with GH FNB since the hempy method was so forgiving with it.....no issues except premixing days in advance so a friend could water for me (started stinking). I've since moved to Canna Coco A&B base with minor additives with the same success and a "cleaner" mix. I can't say enough about this "passive hydro" hempy method....my only complaint is about last 2 weeks of flowering where they need feeding every other day. But I'm sure the 2" res is the savior here...any deeper and the plants can't drink fast enough to keep bacteria from growing in my temp's. I have a gravity feed system now with watering rings in each plant so frequent watering's are no big deal anymore.

Just look what a little 2g bucket can do......

I'm starting out a new hempy grow right now, only 6 clones and 2 random NY Diesel bagseeds (which I'll obliterate at any sign of hermie) I can't wait til roots hit the res... Also in the process of building my room right now, 8x8 plus the veg area. Will be using multiple 600's I am using a 600MH right now on the little ladies. This is my first grow in years, nice to get going on it, first run ever using Hempy as well hoping the 5g plants get pretty big will probably veg a month or so and train as much as possible into nice bushes.

Fantastic grow space. Sweet.

Youre using 100% Perlite ? How you finding the watering schedule?

Have you considered T5 lighting for Veg, Moms and clones?

Thanks for sharing.

Its great to see another Hempy convert. And I'm glad to see someone with coir buckets. I've seen how well they work and you've shown us another great example.

word i also have it all submerged where i put the holes with 15x and have airstones keeping it bubbly, is this good? or overkill?

hmm lets see... i know i need to lightproof but w/e

its a rubbermaid container prolly 24L of water or so. i was scared of algae cause its unpaintedso i used a 2w air pump i got for 7$ and 2x 3$ air stones that come off of a single tee. i dont know if this is enough bubbles//aeration but i was hoping it would be... i was thinking of making a flood + drain table but instead of having an immovable resevoir maybe have it so i can move it in and out of my little space, so i can adjust as needed.. and i wouldnt have to worry about moisture or w/e.. but the other part of me wants to finish this project through. i was drilling one of the 3.5" holes and there was a crack, i noticed drilling backwards with the holesaw reduces the chance of the plastic splitting. i really like it because i wont have to water for a while but im worried about PH climbing/ falling and nutrients being used up. but its also so cool to not worry about them.. they look all wilty cause theyre on day 10 or so of being cut

and i got most of this idea from reading this, thanks mobius! :bigjoint: doubt i will be as successful as you though u seem to have the scientific control part of this down..

still afert reading im not really sure what hempy is. is it like a hydro setup with just perlite aand valcumite init? or do you water like soil/soilesscoco mixtures? i like the idea of having a bunch of smaller plater, seeing as i have about 20autos laying around i would liek to get rid or in one time. and would a flood and drain table work with hempy?

Nizza

thats what im trying to do. i figure why flood and drain just keep it all in the same bucket, and throw some airstones in there to keep the water oxegenated like DWC :-)
sorry and to answer your question it is basically wicking the moisture up so you want to make sure u water every two days. whatever water is under where u put the holes will be the reserve. very cool because u eliminate pumps n stuff

Hempy,,,,,, get a bucket drill a 7/16" hole in the side 2" up from the bottom. Fill it with a soil less medium, put in a plant, water till run off out the hole, rewater when dry. It's really that simple.

Hempy's are a passive hydro system, but you water them more like a soil grow.

Nizza I still don't fully understand what you got going on. Note 1 - I'm an old fart
Do you have several plants in your tub?
I don't understand drilling a 3 1/2" hole
What is w/e? (see note 1)
I pic if you can would help a bunch

Now in any standard hempy an air stone wrong. The idea with a hempy is to have a rez that is small enough to not have any of the problems associated with hydro rez's and the air intake is from the porosity of the medium and the action of watering.
I've been following some threads on other sites where they have reworked and completely eliminated airstones in their RDWC systems, and are getting better results with less rez and root problems.
