It's a shame how the elitists are ruling our lives. What has this world come to?
:wall:
This world has come to nothing. Still the same as it has been for decades. Corporate america will not allow the FDA to approve this until they come up with a way to get the biggest piece of the pie.

those were in 2007. now is different if he becomes president he will be run by big businesses he owes for getting him in office. if some of those companies can do something with marijuana and profit he will be for it. it doesnt matter if a president if for it or against it before the election. it can change.

It doesn't matter which puppet gets placed into the whitehouse, both sides in the Federal level are both paid off by private corporate groups like the pharmaceutical industries to keep marijuana illegal.

BUT, where the Feds are going to lose their strangle hold on keeping the drug war going is in the individual states. Between Oregon,Colorado,Washington.... one of them is going to pull it off and kick off the domino of legalization that will fall into the other 49 dominoes and sweep the nation with legalization.

Once it passes in a single state, it will be the beginning of the end of the Feds powerhold.

I do not think we will see Amsterdam-like pot cafes in the beginning of this when it happens because I do believe the Feds will try to go into the first state that legalizes for recreational use and shut down pot cafes like that. Washington state would likely be the one targeted the most out of the 3 states that are going for recreational legalization in November because under their I-502 bill, home-growing for recreational use is still illegal and it's the state that intends to set up state run pot stores to sell to the public.

But, between Oregon and Colorado, if either one of them succeeds, and a June 2012 poll showed that 61% of Colorado is in favor of recreational legalization as well as having the most money backing their legalization efforts...... it's over with for the Feds. The Feds do not have the manpower or resources to go into a state like Oregon or Colorado and lock up everyone that dares to start planting seeds.

Look at Arkansas of all places , getting MMJ on the ballot, this shows how much desire there is to change the laws. The Feds are going to lose their grip on keeping it illegal. The fight for legalization will be won within individual states, with the Feds just looking onward being helpless and unable to do anything to stop it.

Chances are as it is anyway, 99% of the time if you get locked up for possession and/or growing, it's going to be a city, county,or state law enforcement person making the arrest. With state legalization spreading all over to other states after following which ever state becomes the first to legalize, then the fight for legalization becomes 99% won for all of us.

I would put no hope in the Feds ever legalizing marijuana, regardless of whoever is in the whitehouse. Even when the time comes that as many as 40 states have legalized marijuana for recreational use, the Feds will probably still have marijuana listed as a SCHEDULE I drug.

The plant cannot be patented and it cannot be taxed in a way that the Feds can get their piece of the pie, and this is why the Feds keep it illegal. Between that and being paid off by private interest groups like the pharmaceutical industry, it will likely be SCHEDULE I for many more years, but I say..."does it matter?", because the states are about to change things in a big big way.

Also, $4,800 for a pound as someone mentioned, no, that's not happening. Prices will continue to drop, and even with one state legalizing for recreational use such as Oregon or Colorado, they will likely become a MAJOR production state for the rest of the nation and that will only last until other states start their own legalization measures which will further decrease the price. Within a year, or 2 or 3, the price for a pound of grade A indoor grown could be more like $480. After this November, the entire U.S. marijuana market will see a super surge of good herb flooding the entire nation with prices dropping constantly as an explosion of new growers get into the growing game. The Fed's interdiction efforts will be futile in stopping what's about to happen all over.

I know that there has been a lot of hope for many years that some Federal legislation would instantly wipe all marijuana laws off the books making instant blanket legalization happen overnight, but it's just not going to be like that. Marijuana rights are going to be taken back and won through the states.

A martial law declaration by the Feds would be the only way the Feds could lock down the authority of the states, but then the states have their 10th amendment to counter that and using the 10th amendment could secede.
