Lack of Sun Effects

Growing Pineapple chunk fem and my plant is only getting about 4 hours of direct sunlight. The plant is about 3.5 feet tall (suppose to be short) and appears to be very healthy although a coulple of lower leaves are yellow. What are the negative effects of 4 hours of sunlight ??? Also with it lacking sunlight will the flowering period be longer than a plant that gets the correct direct sunlight ??

The less light they get in flower usually means less time to mature. If i want my flowers ready earlier i drop the light cycle to 10 hours of light and usually lose a week or so of grow time but lose on yeild

Ok... The buds seem to be under developed then. There is no tricomes on any buds yet, is that normal for Sept 8 ??

Flower time will be the same..just smaller buds...less dense and stretchy plants...^^ he is still getting plenty of indirect light just not ideal direct sun..the flowering time will not change.

I read somewhere tricomes develop at the 3rd or 4th week of flowering. I have no tricomes yet so does this mean I have atleast 4 to 5 weeks before its mature ???? That would bring me to around Oct 10 atleast.

The main cola has a cluster of buds, the 8 to 9 other branches are not clustered, but I can see growth of the buds almost everyday... IF that helps.

I'm gonna guess and say I get 20-25 grams of dry tree... Also azamax is working well because all the other plants around the pc are getting eaten.

I had a friend who use to grow his crop in between some trees back in his back yard ..

they did`t get more then 4-6 hrs of direct sun .. but always grew in to 6-8 feet plants who usually gave +1 pond of smoke depending of strain .. and summer wether .. some years was great some not so mouch ..

but in general +8 hrs is perfect if you want the plant to reach full potential .. but can do with way less .. just less yield in the end

Well been reading that pineapple chunk is a late bloomer. That being said I could still have 5+ weeks til chop. I'm not gonna get more than 2 oz's, but who knows.

Effects from lack of sunlight is: tall, thin, stretchy plants, with smaller, looser buds. Flavor, smell and potency are usually the same as fully lit plants. Flowering time can be effected a little, depending on strain.
I had a garden a couple years back that lacked sunlight, and had alot of partially shaded light, and I think some of my strains were actually a little more potent than the same ones grown in full sun. I did have more light than you do though. Good luck.
