seeds that like leds and some that do not

i have noticed that some seed strains like leds and some really don't

there are lots strains i've run that do fine under leds, this is just a list that have been winners and losers for me.
some were only single seeds, and phenos do vary, so your experience may be different with your light

loved leds

Paradise Seeds Sensi Star - loves leds, no matter how much light you give, just turns into hard nuggets
Dinafem Seeds Power Kush - likes leds, sucks it up and pumps out the buds
G13 Labs Blueberry Gum - again likes leds, translates into goodness

hated leds

Reserva Privada Cole Train - just seemed to hate being under leds
Dinafem Seeds Blue Hash - might of been the pheno, but would not stop growing, killed at 24 inches of pure stem
Eva Seeds Veneno (poison) - again just a strain that kept growing, not flowering

post your strains that have done well/or not under leds

I like the idea of this thread but speaking for myself all the strains I've grown under led have only been grown under led. I haven't grown any of them under any other lighting so I couldn't say if they would have done better under other lighting... But maybe I'm just making this more complicated than it really is. heh.

Anyway... BF Liberty Haze & Samsara Sweet Black Angel thrived under leds for me...

I have only ever grown under leds, my own experience shows that some strains love being under leds and others don't, what these strains do under hps,mh,cfl I have no idea

thats interesting, i've being looking for a black domina strain, its listed as Black Domina x Super Silver Haze, good value as well

one of the things I have noticed is strains with large fan leafs, do well under leds, and the strain desc backs this up

its not about strain, all marijuana will do as well under led than the sun. Some seeds are bad, sometimes its other factor. I do know of any strain that dont do well under HPS... LEDs are closer to the sun spectrum so. IMO, strain has nothing to do with how well the plants will grow under LEDs, or no more than some strain are outdoor strain more than others.

EDIT As long as you have a full spectrum light...

from personal experience I have to disagree, I think some strains do not like the blend of light that leds give, its is complicated by nearly everyones lights giving off a different spectrum

the post is simply to highlight the strains that have worked for people and those that haven't under leds

Sorry Enduroxx, I have to agree with the post above.
Certain strains really seem to do worse under LED's, from my experience.
So far, for me, White Widow crosses have been terrible under LED's.

Maybe White Widow is not doing well with your style of growing, not with leds. ... I didnt have to look hard to find a white widow cross that did well under LED

yes but now if people say that this strain and that strain did poorly when in fact it could be hundreds of other things that went wrong in the grow. Sorry I have to disagree with you all!!

Way to jump to conclusions there, assuming it's only been 1 or 2 bad experiences with the WW family, try more like several.
I wouldn't be saying anything if it were just a couple of bad instances, but 2 different breeders WW, Sharksbreath, and
multiple White Rhino phenos, have all met ugly fates.
Gee, it must be my growing style then, just like you said, because look at all these sickly plants...

Even though you were rude in your response, I was still nice enough to go out and get you a present.
Make sure you use this from now on before you do any more posting, it can only help...

Your edit tells the story. So much emphasis was placed on PAR and therefor B/R, which makes no sense. HPS, while not my lighting choice has been long proven to work. The problem is/was heat.

So why didn't/don't led mfgs reproduce hps spectral wave lengths with leds? It has taken a few years to get white diodes to be efficient enough, not only to incorporate the needed B/R, but the also important mid-spectrums, ala HPS: but they are here now, and they are bad ass. They incorporate 90% of all the B/R mmj needs. That said, we still want some 10% 660 for flowering stage, on a separate circuit/timer.

After growing multiple strains and their children under leds, I agree 100% with this. The difference between Generation 1 and 2 will likely be as dramatic. I'll post a picture of Agent Orange X Cheddarwurst V.S. Cheddarwurst in flowering once the light is on, the AOXCW hasn't been in flowering as long, about 2 weeks less. Both in 10 gallon containers, both grown led all the way, from sprout to finish. This strain was bred under Spectras, nice and harsh led light.

It's not as though the good plants pick themselves, I killed males and females that did not fit the alleles wanted. The Cheddarwurst was the best CW under leds, and it was bred with the shortest Agent Orange, they did better than their tall counterparts due to stretching into the Spectras. The hot spot, find the hotspot of your lighting, this is dependent on size and age of flowering.

I would stick with short stout plants that don't stretch in flowering. All my stretchy plants of; AO, CW, Sour Diesel Trainwreck, White Rhino, all of them stretched too far into my Spectras and killed themselves. It was the light's fault, but it left me with only survivors. From which I selected those who I thought would pass on superior genetics via alleles. So far their children are treating me alright.

Sativas are more of a pain to grow in my experience; higher height requirements, longer flowering times, hermaphroditic tendencies, way larger yields (support required). IN GENERAL they are more difficult, but it can be worth it once you are more adept at using your lighting.
