My closet is 9' wide x 2' and the floor is carpet. I'm wondering if I should construct like a plastic tub. Or use plywood and grow trays. Idk, what do you think?
Well I want it to be stable. Would black plastic sheeting do the trick?I used doubled up thick plastic I got from Home Depot to cover the floor.
True. I suppose this is more common sense and a waste of a thread lol my apologies. All plants need some kind of tray or saucer to capture run-off. The type of floor covering you have is irrelevant.
The plastic is there to protect the floor from accidents. I also use catch trays under my planters.Well I want it to be stable. Would black plastic sheeting do the trick?

These are the types of posts I was looking for when posting this thread Thanksslol try taking a plywood piece the size of your closet. Now make a brim around it, doesnt have to be more than 1/2 " deep. You can do this with any wood, or PVC. I think itd look pro with pvc ripped down the center then screwed on. Now after you have a piece of plywood with a rim you line it with plastic, only putting staples above where the water reaches. you can glue it down if you want it to look flush to the floorboard. Wa-laa a floor
Thanks both for sharing.u used a plastic painters cloth( the 3 mil thickness doubled up a couple times ) and made a floorpan out of it like 13 inches up the wall on all sides then voila 3.50 tray... ducttape is ur friend, and a staple gun too
