ijust bought the ballast and it seems to be doing a good job. that kit sounds ok but you will probley need some duct for the tube.

Yeh, seems strange there's no ducting with it. Get it insulated if you can afford it, but it's definitely needed.
And always worth your while checking the quality of the bulb. I just replaced a bulb that came with a kit as the buds were half the size of the buds under a different bulb, same soil, strain etc etc. Just a heads up.
But to the point; I'd buy it...;)

Kit is not supposed to come with ducting. That is supposed to be up to the individual grower to customize with your grow space. keeps costs down. Ducting is cheap at Home Depot after you choose your growing space. You will need fans to pull/push air thru anyway.
Same for the bulbs. They are not Top of the line, but they will get you growing for a couple crops to get you started.

GYO on Amazon 4x4x6.5. Like 100 bucks. Cheaper but mine lasted over year. Still works and looks new
cheaper but works fine.

I have a 600 and it works great! I replace my bulb every 6 months but really have no ideal if needed or not. As for the ducting, yes you would need to insulate the intake in cold climates but not the exhaust side. In fact I would be very careful doing that as it could get extremely hot. I use flexible aluminum ducting on discharge but intake is from room. I think heat will be your biggest issue with the 1000.

I have the Apollo 400 w, same as the one your looking @ in 1000. The cool tube hood is thinner glass than the one I bought at HTG supply for my 1000 in flower tent. Dont know how your hood will be. However, ive had the 400 in my veg tent with 4" duct (note: 6"-4" reducer used) and a 200 CFM 4" fan, and its plenty cool. So a 6" fan with ductwork would work fine on that 1000. Its been on for about a yr @ 18/6, no problems. I would agree that when you need a new bulb, upgrade. Overall id say im satisfied with my purchase.
