My Dwc Setup

dwc setup.jpgi have done lots of research on this site and others, and this is the setup i plan on using any suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated.

that doesnt make sense. first, dwc is when roots sit in or are constantly submerged in nutes. that looks kinda like a rdwc setup but no pumps to get back to res. it really just isnt needed in a small grow, the 5gal buckets and an airstone is all you need.

Looks like a fairly straight forward DWC rig to me....

There are a few issues though. By having your drip pump in the configuration shown in the picture you'll have a flood. You need to get the water pumped from the res, back into the res. Otherwise the buckets will overflow.

You dont really need the drip IMO, The splashing of bubbles bursting at the surface will wet the bottom of the netpot until the roots reach the water.

thanks for the input, i have a question though. in a dwc grow is it necessary to empty the buckets and clean them out after a while. and how tall can you grow a plant i was aiming for about 3.5 to 4.5 feet.

I run an ucdwc and only rez change from veg to flower. During flower I only rez change if my ph starts bouncing. I'm new at this and only have one grow under my belt so take it for what it's worth. I also don't flush.

i plan on doing a scrog grow so i dont see how how i will be able to change water without a rez.... what were the results of your grow

you will need to change the bucket every 7-10 days. it is very easy to grow 5' plants like this.

I go 2-3 weeks (generally 3 to coincide with my flower) without changing 3.5 gallon buckets with no ill effects, do not waste money penny is a penny remember.

I generally have another bucket ready when I change, I usually do straight RO water to give roots a chance to flush for 48 hours or so then add the nutes in. I have used bucket heads from HomeDepot too and that works like a champ as well.

If your gonna scrog, you definitely need a way to add or remove water without lifting the plant out of the bucket. I if were you I would consider building a RDWC rig.

I didn't mean not have a rez. I meant I don't change out my rez water weekly like most. I do a scrog as well and with my 6 plant bucket system I got close to 2 dry. I feel it would have been over 2 if I would have grown the same strain in all 6 bucket. I am on my 2nd grow now and the way these gals are growing I don't believe I need a scrog but will just LST this time.

You'll discover later why these procedures were developed by those who went before you.
