Hiya Acid! Thanks for the props but that garden vid is actually not mine. I pulled it off the FB page when Darryl sent me that link. I just recognized that it was a couple of nice caregivers I know out of AZ that I got turned onto IG a while back helping get at the time was just a 5 x 15 going with just 4 lights. So they have definitely expanded and changed direction from what had been Sativa's like the Blue Dream we ran where they would clone off of the mothers under a 200 watt IG. Now it seems like they're into straight Indica's. If I had to guess this run came off of clones as well since they're growth and structure is so consistent.

My mistake. The 99 plant grow is in a licensed dispensary that I helped set up the electrical for. There was no way they were going to use the HID's they had planned on using since the entire service is only 100 amp 1 phase. They had heard of induction but really didn't know much about it till I helped them set this room up. The garden is maintained by an experienced crew but it is their first grow under the IG's. They know these strains well and so far the IG's are making for some happy tenders. I'm working a few miles from there so I'll stop in from time to time and keep posting up.

I did dig down a few emails and found a bit more info came my way on my old AZ buddies. Confirmed what I thought at around a pound per light with the exception that they're now using the Pro-100 for clones and they vegged a couple weeks longer then I would have guessed...

The full sized plants on the left end of the room were indicas: Violator Kush and G-13. From cloning to finish we used Inda-gro induction lights with the 100 watt for cloning and the 420's for everything else. They were grown under our former method of topping when they are one week out of the cloner then vegging under the 420's for about 6 weeks. Even though the big plants on that one end of the room were beautiful IMO they showed us it was not the most efficient use of the light and we now are doing a sea of green method with a two week veg of non-topped plants. We went from having 12 large plants under three of the 420's to having 40 sea of green plants under the three lights. We use a conveyor belt method of placing new plants in the room every few weeks. Since they were indica dominant plants we finished in just 55 days. We had 12 big plants under three of the 420's and each plant consistently yielded between 130-140 grams[/FONT][FONT=&amp], 1.2 lb per light. So in that video one set on the left was the larger called "full sized" and the rest are sea of green. I'll report yields when the information comes in but we're expecting a greater increase in yield because I believe it'll use the 420 light/foot print more wisely for this method.[/FONT]

MJ emailed her harvest pics for the G13 as she pulled these out of the group that had been on the right in the video and they are now switching from a having 12 large plants under 3 of the 420's to 40 small plants sea of green. These images were all grown under the 420's and only taken outside at the end so the new plants could go into the room which you see on the right side of the video.

She comments:
These images came from our G-13 run that was on an 18/6 veg for 6 weeks and it has been finishing about 7 days earlier than when we ran the same strains under the 1000 watt MH/HPS lamps we had been using. I'm pretty confident the weight goes up based on a shorter veg and going from 12 large plants to 40 small plants under a sea of green. I should have those numbers in 4-5 weeks.

The yellowing on the leaves may be due to a flower hardener I used. Usually the leaves and plant are beautifully green the entire life cycle with the 420's. The buds are dense, tight, chrystally and literally the size of the spray can. I also see more sugar production than I would have under the sodium lights.

Im gathering more and more followers as we speak its simply amazing.. Yeh they cost a bit to get started up but some dont look at the whole picture i for one can weigh it all up and boy its damn cheap!!

Hiya Buck! See what you started? 32K views and can't get a sticky. But you're right on looking at the the whole picture. If you just pull a 1/2 elbo of top shelf per light you still cover the cost in the first grow after that it's no relamps and reduced electric bills for next 10+ years. MJ added lights in the space she has to work with and gets over an elbo per light. So in her case, where she's doing perpetual, the costs for the extra lights was a no brainer.

Wow quite a launch of a product line. I do think it's good that Tesla's contribution to the world is being taken seriously as as area light retrofit and can be viewed as an agricultural alternative to the high watt/heat lamps that have been the norm for the last 30 years. Interesting that the big boys are now starting to jump on the band wagon like 'FSS' Full Spectrum Solutions Everlast out of Jackson MI starts a company like IGrow. Don't know much about the line, perhaps others may have used their products and can comment, but I did check out their website and videos and I noticed something strange right off. They use Matt Gretchke in their videos.

Matt is a seasoned grower with advanced degrees in agricultural science who left IGrow and started IBeam Induction Grow Lights because of all the crap they were pulling on him and the dealers who IGrow enticed into these 'exclusive' retail sales hydroponic dealer agreements promised enormous profits for those shops. Matt would have none of that and left. Most of the exclusive dealers have since pulled out too.

I met Matt @ the last Indoor Garden Expo in San Francisco and saw his line which are well made and go up to 300 watts . And while Darryl has been building Inda-Gro since 2005 he has always welcomed competition since it will only bring benefits to the grower by advancing phosphor development and a wider understanding of what this technology brings to the indoor garden. To that end Darryl posted up a video on his YouTube channel on Matt's booth and showed his lights at the expo.

If you think about it, the only real option to HID, other than EFDL has been an emerging LED market that has these enormous tax/utility subsidies (where FSS made their money on the backs of tax payers) for general area lighting conversions and a small but passionate group of growers that have turned to LED as a way to reduce heat and high wattage while still delivering a quality product that makes a decent weight. So competition that pushes the boundaries of energy efficiencies is a good thing. I predict there will be a flood of marketing attention devoted to the EFDL ag market. It was just a matter of time. So to all those being newly introduced to induction grow lighting it will take a bit more navigation to cut the wheat from the chaff.

Their bulbs look like Inda-gro's, thought perhaps they had the same source, but they claim to have separate veg and bloom bulbs so they must be different.

those "iGROW" lamps really confuse me... a shop local to me has what they tell me are the iGROW 200w and iGROW 400w lamps... THAT ARE IDENTICAL TO THE FULL SPECTRUM SOLUTIONS LAMPS THAT I ORIGINALLY USED

i mean it, they even still have the FSS manufacturing label on the ballast. and FSS is based in Jackson, MI too. in fact, go here: http://www.fullspectrumsolutions.com/about_us.htm. it has the same picture of where they say these things are made: http://www.igrowlights.com/index.php/about-us. I-Grow is a bullshit rebrand of warehouse lighting. and i stopped using them after the 400w burned out my first lightmover, and then when their 400 itself went out at the ripe old age of 11 months and FSS didn't want to honor their own warranty for me. oh, and with it costing $1200, all they did is double the MSRP of the FSS units.

and their ad that shows the IG shop, and claims that its made in China is a crying shame - it looks like iGROW doesn't even make their own shit. sounds like they should have thought about their dishonest ad tactics a bit more than they actually did.

oh, and to try to get this thread back pointed in the right direction... i'll be posting a new update tonight, provided that i have enough time after work and after getting the prep work done on the new ventilation mod that i'm working on in prep for the season change. the tent is currently home to just the White Rhino and the Blueberry; the Cannatonic and Oregon Licorice came down night before last. weights and measures as well as finished bud porn pics are imminent

i also have plans to get a new Cannatonic in the tent tonight or tomorrow, and then a Qrazy Train will be going in within the week.

i also have plans to do some outside updates this evening as well. the Blue Dream is ... dreamy... and the Blue City Diesel is about the sexiest pile of purple i have ever seen; the pistils are still running strong with the pink/purple color, and the leaves are beginning to follow suit.

Hiya Spliff! How's it hanging ol buddy? How're the gurlz?

This whole Full Spectrum Solutions/IGrow thing is what will be the tip of a marketing iceberg blitz. FSS is extremely well capitalized and my guess the marketing of IGrow will know no bounds.

I know the lighting industry wants to continue to perpetuate the two lamps being necessary to get us through a cycle. It's marketing for selling more lamps. Such utter bullshit. Listen if I felt the need to add a bit more red to the 420 I would do so with a targeted LED that would ADD to the baseline emissions of the 420 not replace it. But even doing that would come at a cost so everyone is watching things like your Bloom Booster grow to see the results. For now I've been happy with my results based on ROI, quality, yields and cost per meter sq basis.

So FSS/IGrow and others are continuously pushing that another lamp be purchased for bloom. With FSS/IGrow that comes at an extra 375 bones instead of offering a mixture of broad blend phosphors that allow the entire grow to be done utilizing just a single lamp. So even if it were proven to not be detrimental to our plants to bombard it with new spectrum's from a different lamp while switching to a new flowering photoperiod you still deny the plants the UV levels that are creating the defenses, increased trichome production, that makes such beautiful buds as seen by the results many of us have experienced from using the IG 420's.

Putting aside the negative effects on plant photobiology for a minute let us consider the FSS/IGrow economics of using their products. The gardener will have to march down to the 'exclusive' hydro shop and drop $1,200 for the veg light and another $375 for the flowering lamp before you can embark on your merry EFDL journey. Of course this assuming that the FSS/IGrow is all stocked by that dealer at the time you're there to buy it. God help you if you are not in an area where there is not an 'exclusive' dealer and decide to deal directly with FSS/IGrow though their on line store where your purchase would be shipped direct. This mammoth of package would require an added shipping cost in the USA of between 150-200 bucks on top of everything else (sorry overseas orders you don't even want to know what that freight cost would be). This puts a single lamp deal at around $1,750.00. And even that would not stop some people from taking the plunge if the economics made sense and the results were proven vastly better than anything else their competition was offering.

So why does such an esteemed group like FSS/IGrow, with all their talent and resources, take the time to put up a list of 20 reasons (19 of which are factually inaccurate) to lay claim as to why they're product is better than the competitions? Why would that same report go on to put a picture of the little Inda-Gro shop in San Diego on their site and compare it the glistening manufacturing facility that FSS put up with the Michigan taxpayers money? Why would FSS/IGrow not welcome the competition and let the market decide?

Because it really does come down to their perception of market dominance and the ability to maintain a two lamp solution to the indoor garden market. These guys should be spending their time, energy and resources on propelling the use of EFDL as an energy efficient alternative to HID. Instead they focus on claims of intellectual property rights on phosphors, have their lawyers sending cease and desists letters to anyone who makes an EFDL lamp for plants, threaten to sue dealers who decide FSS/IGrow is not right for them and decide to carry another induction line (wonder who?) instead, and finally to claim that only their products are Made in the USA with the implication being that their competitors, specifically Inda-Gro, employs long lines of underpaid, unhappy Chinese workers toiling away on their behalf which they know to be untrue. Me thinks FSS/IGrow may be suffering from a little known medical condition known as 'sand in the vag'.

hey everyone!

so i still hate my phone/camera... despite that... i still made an agreeable video update

these past couple weeks have been really busy, and i haven't had to video document every bit of progress... the Cannatonic and the Oregon Licorice came down a few days ago and are still drying... weights on that soon...

the White fire totaled out to just under 8 and a half ounces dry weight, and the Agent Orange came in at just shy of 7 ounces. i had to pull her a few days earlier than i had wanted to due to seeing a few mites in the tent. meh... gotta do what ya gotta do, amirite?

but enough of that... on to now:

the new round is already up n running. the left side of the tent has a White Rhino and a DJ Short Blueberry on day 12. the right side of the tent has a new Cannatonic and a Qrazy Train on day 1. and theres still room in there for 2 more. i'm not in a rush, tho. i have plans to get the next OL into her 7gal in the next week, and i have a BCD (clone from this) in a 1gal that will be getting into a 3gal in prep for her upcoming indoor run. also have a 2nd White Rhino pheno in veg that will be getting topped soon and prepped to come into the tent; most likely in about another 2 weeks.

I have learned that the info regarding the need for 660 during flower was misguided. It will work, but ONLY in combination with comparable watts of ~720-740, BUT, even that is a mixed bag. So why bothr? Exactly!

Have no idea how a Far Red will work indoors. Might be tits with the IndaGro, then again...
