I don't know the numbers but expatriates come here with money, even my paltry $900/mn affords me a much better lifestyle than the US. Hell, I couldn't live in the US on that without assistance and even with assistance, I would n't be able to live as well as I do, now.

Deportees, on the other hand, come here with nothing. Many of them have lived most of their lives in the US and were snatched up and dumped off in a strange land, some not able to speak spanish, they don't know anybody here because all their family is still in the US and they don't have anything but the clothes on the back.

I just like bringing up the fact that AC says roughly 2% of the American population are expatriots living in Mexico.
