Thanks a million to 5150 for literally saving my garden with his awesome advise about the Harbor Freight Driveway alerts!! I picked up 5 of them and because of that I still have my garden 
4:33 am this morning I confronted the first ripper ever in my backyard!
Driveway alerts woke me up and 30 seconds later I looked out my bedroom window and see this dude 3 feet away from my garden pointing a flashlight. I yelled out the open window, "What the Fu@k, you M-Fu@ker, you better run!". Dude takes off running as fast as he can out the back gate!
I was completely freaked out when the flashlight came on because I've had several false alarms with the cats and dogs going in and out of the dog door. I half reluctantly crawled out of bed expecting to see the cat in the yard. Talk about an Adrenaline Rush!! I went to bed at 3:30 after making some bubble and within an hour he was in my backyard ready to strike! Dogs were inside sleeping and the sliding glass door was closed because it was cold. I usually leave it open so the dogs can easily hear any noise outside!
I got this ballsy little bastard on my night vision camera as well! He looked right into the blinking lights and kept on towards my garden!
I've got a padlock (inside) on the main gate but this guy came in the side entrance, literally 5 feet from the neighbors house! I had not locked that gate because it was weathered and very hard to pry open so I figured nobody would even try as it would be very loud.....well I was wrong! Also, this guy had to see the red light from the driveway alert as well when he walked in through the side entrance but he kept coming!
I also always leave a receiver in the window to try and scare them off to prevent anyone cutting plants before I can get there.....but this guy came in the side and I neglected to turn that extra side receiver on in that window, had he heard that he most likely never would have made it so close to my garden!
I just let the little bastard run and did not bother giving chase because I did not have any shoes or shirt on......another lesson learned!
My next idea is to buy a paint gun with pepper spray bullets.....I would have LOVED to of shot that fu@ker in the face with pepper spray! I'm also debating purchasing a TASER......I would have loved to have chased him down, tasered his ass, and then called the cops!
What a stressful year....last year was my first and I was really naive (but successful).....this year I was ready for the worst and it really paid off!!
Watch your back everyone.....it's hard to do a suburban grow as there is no hiding the smell! Your only defense is to be as prepared as possible and keep your pimp hand strong.....as I've heard it put
