Apologies in advance as I'm sure this topic is covered here somewhere. Here is my question: If you plan on harvesting one ripe bud at a time, how do you flush out nutrients without negatively effecting less mature buds farther down the plant? The two week flush method seems geared toward harvesting the entire plant at once. Hope this makes sense. Please advise. Thanks.

Nutrients are not stored in the calyxes, there is literally nothing to 'flush out'.
It's a topic which has been discussed a lot of these forum, if you do a search you can find a lot of information.

I don't understand statements like this. How about you provide someone with a reputable link backing up the claims you're making? Especially when associating with a community which is so filled with contradicting information..

That's the problem with the Internet, misinformation is repeated enough that its taken as fact.
I proved (at least to myself) it makes no difference over the past few years. Multiple plants of the same strains. I flushed half, fed the others per usual up to a few days before harvest. Did this several years, so this isnt based on a one time thing, and there is no difference in the taste, the way it smokes or the effects.
The ones I did flush didn't have as big buds as the unflushed ones

Personal experience definitely holds value, don't get me wrong. It's harder to believe personal experience over scientific evidence, though. Which kind of sucks because a lot of the time personal experience is far better than scientific evidence.
But you know what's even better? Personal experience backed up with scientific evidence. BOOM solved the dilemma while I wrote this post lOl.

IMO the best way to become a better grower is not to take everything at face value. There is conflicting information all over this, and other mj sites.
Best way to learn and dial it in is to experiment. Situations, strains, conditions are different for everybody. What works great for one person may not work for others

You also have to realize that "flushing" is a broad term that means different things in different situations. In hydro/soilless flushing means running massive amounts of clean water through the medium to remove all salts, nutrients and everything else.. basically starting over. This can be done in soil, but the flushing will mostly remove additives and activate the soils own nutrients. Leaching, on the other hand, is commonlyh called flushing and this is basically just switching to pure water instead of nutrient water (without the flushing) so that the plant uses what is left in the medium, be it coco, rockwool, soil or whatever, and then begins to feed on itself - which results in the yellowing of leaves. Timed properly you can have the plant use up all the nutrients and harvest it just as it runs out and begins feeding off fan leaves... but in the end I'm not sure if it matters or not.

Why do I have to repeat myself every time another pre-harvest thread is started (which is about 1-3 times a week)?

If it was just one link then it wouldn't be a problem. But the fact is that it's not just a link.
I've written extensively on the subject on these forums.
There are several threads worth of pertinent information, we're not just talking about 1 link.
I'm not going to waste 30+ minutes of my life finding all the information for you when you probably won't even read it or care.
I base that on the fact that you're so lazy you can't even bother to make a simple search.
Do you find using google hard as well?
Anyway, much of it I've scanned and posted into the threads as images, you have to see the full context.
Which is why you should stop whining about how difficult it is to search a forum and just do it instead of making excuses.
