Possible nutrient burn, take a look at pics...

Hoping some more experienced growers can take a look at my pictures and tell me if this looks like nutrient burn. I've seen a lot of other photos on the forum but haven't seen any that look quite like these, so here they are..

Notice the brownish coloring around the edges, I should also note that many of the leaves that have this brown are the bigger ones, and are also curling under a bit.

I'm using Ebb & Flow trays, the plants are in 8"x8" cubes of rockwool. They are about 2 feet high, and are very healthy and strong aside from this problem. If it's nutrient burn, that's confusing because I've had these guys going for about 2 months using the same ratio of General Hydroponics nutrients with a slight (N) boost since they were babies and haven't had this issue yet.

I've got 4 of them under a 400w HPS, vegging them for another few weeks before putting them in my flowering room that has a 1000w HPS bulb and same tray setup. These plants have had really no issues up until a few days ago. My light is about 2 feet from the tops of the plants.

Any ideas or suggestions appreciated!

I will check my PH levels and post them...I actually just bought a testing kit. I was told that the nutrients I am using would stabilize the PH levels but maybe not. I just think it's odd that they've been growing for so long with the same PH level and nutrient mix and this just started.

I should also mention the temp in the room has gone up a little since it's been getting warmer, but it's still at about 78F at it's highest.

Of This One, Then I Dont Think It Is The Nutes, N Will Not Do This, In Little Doses, Like Mentioned, But It Will Make Them More Forest Green, That Is A Sign Of To Much N.... Check Under Leafs, They Can Be Tinny, Tinny... Temp Are Great. For Plants, And Horny Bugs... More Pic's Is Always Better. That Is A Sign Of To Much N.... .

I actually added more Nitrogen in the mixture last time, but a VERY small amount - but are you saying that my leafs look like they had too much N? That would make sense since I added more last time I changed the water.

I'll try and get some more photos later!

- For nutrients, I'm using General Hydroponics Flora series. Using 3 tspns FloraGro, 2 tspns Flora Micro, 1 tspn Flora Bloom, and 1/2 tspn of organic (N) per gallon of water, and I have a 16 gallon res.

- Lights, my 400w HPS is about 2 feet from the top of the plants. I know MH is preferred for veg, but all I have at the moment is this one, and it's done quite well so far. The plants are healthy and strong and are almost ready for flowering.

- Bugs, I haven't noticed any. Once every great while I will spot a very small fly in the room, but I keep a fan constantly on the plants, which has proven to make them really strong, and also seems like it would keep bugs off of them.

- Heat, like I say the room never gets any hotter than 78F - however, I did start noticing this when the room went from an average of say 74F to 78F when it started getting warmer outside.

- Mildew/Mold...haven't noticed any of this either, the room is very dry, and I usually only flood the trays once every 2 days for about 30 minutes. I like to get the rockwool a bit dry before flooding again.

Should also mention, I have two strains going in that room, and the other strain is doing just fine in comparison, but those plants are also smaller, and in soil vs. the rockwool.

Couldn't find any batteries for my PH tester at the store, why can't I find watch batteries anywhere???

I am using the same nutrient mix as a friend has used successfully, just using a very small amount of the bloom in veg mode...when switching to 12/12 the majority of the mix is the bloom mix, and the ratio of the GRO goes down.

MY OTHIER THOUGHT IS, WAS THE RES. CLEANED TO THE MAX LAST TIME.?

Yeah, I scrubbed it really good, using just water. I have two res's that i switch out every two weeks with fresh water/nutes so I make sure that the one not being used gets cleaned well during that 2 week break.

With plain tap water: 6.5
Tap water with nutrients: 5.5

I have some PH adjustment chems too, where should i be on this?

here are a few pics of the other strain I have going in the same tray. Two of those plants are still totally fine, but one of them is now (just today) starting to show signs of yellowing around the edges...and a pic of some clones I took from the damaged plants about 2 weeks ago.

I spent a good amount of time checking for bugs, even used a magnifying glass and I don't see any signs of them at all...no dust, lint, or anything small floating around in the air or anything! I guess it wouldn't hurt the plant to spray them with some bug spray in case?

I'm going to take your advice and swap out my water and mix only 1/4 of the nutrients as I normally do and see if that helps.

A friend of mine said to only flood my trays once every few days, and that it's good to let the rockwool get semi-dry before watering again. Do you have any thoughts on this?

I also have the rockwool directly in the tray, and some of teh roots are starting to come through the bottom and make direct contact with the tray. Is this bad? I've thought about lining the entire try with another layer of rockwool for the roots to grip on because I"ve also heard it's bad for the roots to come in direct contact with the tray or water.

I looked at your journal, VERY nice....I need to get your cloning method down, I have been getting lame roots after even 4 weeks so far!

I've been flushing them with the 25% strength over the last few days. I gotta say the plants seem to be doing better. I don't think the damage to the leafs will "repair" itself, but the new growth seems to be healthier....at least one can hope!

I had a reefer veteran come take a look at them, and he seemed to think it was a problem with too much (N). I went ahead and took the (N) completely out of my mix...hope it works, these little bitches are ready to flower!
