Hello fellow ents,
Sorry for the lack of pix. This is my first grow so burry me. lol bear with me.
About a week and a half ago I built a 5x5x7 grow tent in my apartment. I now have 8 plants (6 dif. mostly hybrid strains) transplanted in
readygro, fed flora series through a strong top feed (drip) system. I'm using a single 600 watt mh bulb and hood with a 6" inline exhaust system (which is too strong). The light is about 2 feet away from all my 7-11 inch babies. I am having some problems (probably) because I transplanted the clones too young (roots) and fed them nutes too early (some burn). However, I have maintained a steady humidity of around 50% and temperature of 80 deg. Since then, I have also stopped feeding altogether, and have flushed them every other day, hoping to unlock the medium and perhaps correct the ph, which still is around 6 to uptake micronutes.
I have a few simple and possibly vague questions that need addressing...
Any readygro users willing to spare any advice concerning overwatering/retention/oxygenation? ive noticed that the more i flush the readygro the more perlite ends up on top. Is this okay? If i have a strong pump that will give the plants in 1 gallon pots runoff within a minute or so, how long/frequent should i water them daily?
I know that strains have different resistances, but why, under the same conditions, are some of my plants fresh, green and growing, while others have not grown at all and have yellowing leaves? One particular plant, Afwreck, seems to have the worst roots and has many yellowing leaves, even towards the top now. The leaves droop and I know its not from overwatering, now. One of the leaves even has a black vein, which is disturbing. Another plant GSC, had extremely wilted, twisted, and upturned (curved) upper leaves, but has since started to droop and become wrinkly, with extremely green color in the vein and not at the edges.
Anybody ever vertical SCROG? Is 5x5 feet enough space to allow 8 plants to grow 4 ft. vertically around a bulb?
My grow tent is covered in blankets to block ambient lighting, and as a result becomes drastically too hot without running my inline exhaust (90+). So with it on 24/7 in conjunction with my 18/6 lighting, I maintain 82 deg. F in the "day" and 78 deg. F at night. IS THIS TEMPERATURE CHANGE GOING TO HARM MY PLANTS IF I DO NOT INCREASE IT? ............. The powerful exhaust usually pulls in fresh air from the apartment, but ruins the possibility of adding co2. ...... DOES ANYBODY KNOW IF A COMPUTER FAN WILL BE EFFECTIVE AS A SUPPLEMENT IN MY GROW ROOM? THERE PRICE? HOW TO CONNECT THEM TO DUCTING?
How important is maintaining a humidity of 60-70% during vegetative growth?
If this is too long and drawn out and you are too high, any even MORE general advice would be nice. *stormy cloud*
Thanks in advance! (I will rate highly, if that helps round here )
