Is this whole thread just cos people question the tax free status of gym equipment salesmen?

It is very relevant to your ego to win an argument even if you have to construct some fantasy hypothesis to do it...

I understand your liberal world is crumbling apart and there is a danger that you are going to lose your messiah along with your mind but that is not my problem.

I was just arguing on the opposite side of this hypothetical to give food for thought. Realistically I agree that a persons knowledge wont disappear just because their job title changed but it is also a plausibility.
 
I don't see why her credibility would be lost if she decided to give everything away and go on food stamps. I can see how the counter argument goes: "well, she doesn't pay taxes and he takes from us... so bah!" Well, as it so turns out, if she really was a top economist, she's paid more in taxes than most of the people who stand by the counter argument. So does that mean their opinion is invalid as well?

Edit: accidentally hit yes on the fucking poll... oh well.
 
I really don't care about this poll, although I voted no. All I am interested in is "the trap". I really don't see much of a trap here.
 
Economists are very good at looking at historical data and telling a story to fit their beliefs. Often times the same exact data tells almost opposite stories. Give me a hedge fund manager any day of the week if I want real time advice on the economy.

Depends how "Top" is defined ...I would think his opinion would be worth more if he is no longer working for someone else. If this is about Paul Krugman or Peter Schiff then no, they are both dousche faces that work for 'The Man'

Lets set the record straight Bucky.
First of all, I never said you shouldn't have an opinion on fiscal policies just because you currently do not pay federal income taxes. Instead, I'm trying to tell you that you have no moral ground ripping apart others for not paying more taxes than they already do!

It's one thing to give an opinion, it's another thing calling people vile names while they are paying taxes and you choose to pay nothing, if that's not hypocritical, I don't know what is.

Every one of us should have the right to our own opinion whether we pay into the system or are on the other end of taking it out.

There are many left leaning people on this site that do an honest days work and pay their taxes, I respect their opinion even if I disagree with them. These people have skin in the game and their opinion is just as valid as mine, but someone who voluntarily chooses not to work and not pay taxes would be better served by being a bit more humble in their rhetoric IMO.

Well rats. I just answered the poll after interpreting the question differently. I thought I was being asked "if their models no longer work".

But I am only mildly perturbed. I am reminded that if you arrange seven top economists head to toe, they'll point in seven different directions; eight if one comes from Harvard.

The argument is complicated by the fact many treadmill producers/salesmen WOULD infact pay taxes, but to do so when your product is "federally regulated" would be pretty dumb.

One audit or any sort of attention and it's off to get fucked in the ass by "Bubba" and "Bear" in federal ass-rape prison.

Treadmill producers/salesmen of the kind found on this site arnt rich or violent criminals and although their income is tax free, probably 100% of their income goes back into the economy.

I think that's what you fail to grasp.
