Ways to ventilate this 150w MH light i have not a typical grow light!!

Hey people this my first post !!! lol nice to meet all of you and i have learned alot reading these forums...I was bout 14 last time i grew lol been like 11 years round 2 and i got 3 little babies!! I should have took pictures when i just ran downstairs to take pic of this light my dumb ass i will get some up maybe tomorrow. they are small though! Probably about 2 n half inches maybe 3 but i replanted them down to the first set of leaves to keep them a little shorter! ok well down to the actual question i could use some assistance with please!!! I have a 150w MH light that comes in a big box that is from a parking garage setup !! its real heavy about 15-25 pounds maybe?? I can take the relfector off of it and mount the ballast , ignitor , and capacitor somewhere else it has plenty of wire but maybe just put a good fan on one side of light for now or ? running duct through it seems difficult with how it setup! any advice would be awesome guys thanks mucho mota lol im not spanish haha just wanted to say that

150w? that should not put out much heat at all unless the ballast is old. Best bet is to vent the heat from the ceiling ( what little you will have). Simplicity is best, always. Good luck! BTW nice find on the light

Well it's in the laundry room lol n ok thanks for the reply see you people on here so helpful and if emits a good bit of heat but I figure if I mount it high enough fans should be ok !! N yes I thought so to lol for the good find part lol and it's probably a 4-5 year old setup as old as the hotel it came out of

How big an area are you planing to illuminate? Cause that MH when new only has 14000 lumens. Soo you are better off with only 3. If ya need any help just ask!

Yeah my buddy the head electriciAn I watched him wire it and I put the bulb in myself says metal halide on box and I have a extra bulb right now I'm running 2 32w cfl 2200 lumen a piece and a 23w cfl but they are only babies. I have another 23w and an A/C converter thing just need another extension cord to plug it into !! It emits A good bit of heat lol and is ridiculous bright haha pics of my 3 babies coming n about 4 hours when I get off work , very nebbish setup but I'm using seeds from a bag of mids more experimenting and learning than a real serious grow rather learn more and watch them grow right now )) I can unscrew the reflector and take the huge metal box away and build a mount for capacitor ignitor and ballast , that would reduce weight of box ALOT!!!!! well thanks for taking ya time to read it update later with pics of them

A laundry room sounds like a horrible grow room.. It can get really hot and most always will have excess humidity...

Yes it is warm but there 3 kids at the house and hopefully moving into a bigger house on the next month or 2 .... Humidity stays 30-45% just gott get a bigger fan lol got a 120mm that I need to put closer.... As far as the space to illuminate it's
A small area I'm using for now probably 2x2 maybe a little bigger for now got alot of improvements to go but like I said only doing this for a trial and error and to get a better understNding of the cycle y know ?? And with the MH and the cfl be enough for 3 plants or just the MH alone once I get it situated ?well it will bd enough I know I'm going to suffer on yield and everything just because of the un ideal grow conditions compared to a real setup And better off with 3 What I got lost ? Lol jeez you guys r so helpful I should made a account along time ago insteD just reading hah thanks and like I said pics will be coming soon of the babies !!!! It's very exciting though I forgot how much fun it is

i don't know about 3 plants ... maybe if you keep them small and use the cfl's to fill in the light.. but its going to get really hot in a 2x2 area. Do you have a attic or maybe a closet you can add a lock to? Maybe look into some t5's or LED's

Thanks lol I will need it and not right now hopefully when we find a house I will have some more room or I'm gonna build a box of some kind for autos until I can get a real space it's more of a hobby and learning more than anything so. If I get a couple blunts I will be happy lol I can't wait to get hold n look at em n get some pics up here lol

well thats the setup for now like it or not haha the 2 lights with the built in ballast are the 32w 5000k bulbs and the one hanging is a 23w 3000k or 2700k not sure... I know its very un ideal but hey my first time i transplanted and tried dro back to soil and visa versa and over fed the shit out of it and still harvested some so hey i think i can make it work i have another 23w 3000k but need an extension cord to hang it from the other side from the other 1....if you notice on the 4th pic in top right corner i have the 120mm fan zip tied haha hey all about trial and error people ok well best of luck to yall and to me lol

Well I got the avatar pic figured out Gonna add that other cfl and maybe lower lights a little I got another 120mm fan but trying to figure best place to put it gonna make this under grow journal n a day or 2 well any tips advice criticism how much it blows what needs to be changed... Anything will help lol thanks
