you should save up and buy some tank LED lights thats what im doing for flower comparable to 600w hps should be sweet :blsmoke:

I thought it all came down to lumens...?...I have round 36,000 lumens in there...there's like 20 bulbs n most of em are the bigger ones....mixed spectrum and I read the plants use more of the light spectrum wise from cfls than hps or mh...just read it somewhere not sure how true it is....I just figured if I used enough cfls to get the lumens needed for a good yeild I'd be alright....35,000 lumens for a box 3feet wide 2feet deep n three feet tall is a lot....its my first so we'll see i guess

as your plant gets bigger the cfl's become less efficient since you need more bulbs to cover the extra area, and it comes to a point where only a hps or an led can cut it :eyesmoke:

Yeah I've seen some of the high powered led's ....I like em...that's prolly what ill eventually upgrade to...for now if I gotta keep adding cfls as they grow that's what ill do.....man I know it can be done w cfls ..check you tube "cfl grow box" by username "slikk1"(I think that's how its spelled...ill check.
.but look it up...that's what inspired me to do this...and I have like twice the lights he has

Keep up your grow and pls update pics right up until harvest. I too am using cfl's and want to see the end result with cfl's only. I may switch to hps if they can't cut it in flowering.
