Ha! Love it!

My Plush Berry and Super Silver Haze are side branching like crazy also. I didn't mainline but I topped as per Sub / Nugs.

Here's a couple pics of my first attempt at main lining to 8 on a asymmetric clone and one of my current grow with my new USB scope.I can see that it must be a lot easier from seed. This will be my second grow ever,my first is at day 41 of 12/12 of a LST scrog. I applied the predator mites I ordered last week on that yesterday,I wonder how long it will take to tell if they're winning the battle.

Have to take a new scope pic tomorrow, can't upload the one I took.

Nugs im trying to PM you but it dont seem to be going through, so i will ask here

how do you go about sexing your plants early? I am able to get some ace of spades seeds locale and only want to mainline the females?

I'll definitely be main-lining again. I don't have any of what I would consider "weak branches". Every top is under direct light and developing at about the same pace. My next run will be some (asymmetrical) clones, so we'll see how that goes! I'll be picking those up in about 2 weeks. Pics to come.

there is a tutorial on youtube, I have never tried it but apparently you take a cutting (clone/branch) and you put it in a glass of water. Place the cutting under 12/12 lighting and it will survive in the water until it shows sex within 2 weeks. I am going to try this method soon

This method will work, but it's not necessary. By the time your plant is old enough to take a cutting, and that cutting has had 2 weeks in 12/12, your plant will already have shown it's sex naturally. My Cheese Quakes showed at day 27, and there's no way you'd be taking a clone at day 14 from sprout... Sure, some take longer than 27 days, but I still don't think this method accomplishes much other than giving you more work...

I'll let Nug's comment on his method of sexing (which is actually covered in this thread earlier on).

He also claims an "eye" for very early signs. He bases it on shape of the preflower. Now I know that a female preflower will be set a bit further back and be teardrop shaped but do I trust that for early cullings? Not really! But at the same time I'm not commercial... ish, I guess, don't want people getting all butt hurt and telling me they do it for the patients n shit! I love in an illegal state and I do it for my "patients" too.... If I were a suggesting man, and I am, I would suggest that you Just take ONE of your rooted clones and put it on 12/12 until it pops nuts or pistols... That way you KNOW! Just label your shit or I will come to your house and lol @ you!

Nugs when you sex a strain and the go back to veg. Does it change the genetics just like when you take a cutting from a flowering plant in the first week. I've been hesitant to try that with seedlings for that reason.

looks great!....so what are your thoughts on Main-Lining so far?....is it working for you?
I do like the fact that the space she saved is pretty significant... here's a pic of another jilly I have in the same room....
You can see she grows large even with just a quick Top and nothing else... So really I will have to take a look at my final numbers considering the mainlined plant definitely took an extra 10 days to get ready for flower.

Hey Nugs! Just wanted to drop a note to thank you again for the tips and technique. Even if only applied to create 2-4-8 good heads it really helps even things out. It's all about the hub and the way the plant distributes energy through that point best. Cheers!!

it works really good with Main-Lining cause after she shows, you hack the top out anyways......so any preflowers and hormones are removed....does not change a thing.....everything that i do, is about efficiency as it relates to Main-Lining, and producing as much herb in limited space and energy consumed...

cool bro, keep us posted....and remember to compare "quality" of overall yield too.....

no method will be right for everyone, but it is right for me, and a lot of my friends....esp. growers with limited space, and those who believe a flat canopy is the most efficient way to grow...thank you, and glad you are benefiting from the method....nugs
