The initiative would legalize use of marijuana products purchased from state authorized sources for adults 21 and over and focus law enforcement resources on DUI prosecution as well as violent and property crimes. Unlicensed cannabis will still be illegal, including personal "grows" in one's own home, except for medical cannabis as regulated under RCW 69.51A.

How about thinking of others , instead of the new laws you have to follow. Like not abusing it and driving high

The trouble is the disconnect between weed's intoxication interval and its current test half-life. They're two full orders of magnitude apart. The glass-half-full attitude is that this might drive improved testing. cn

as a resident of massachusetts, i have some new decisions to make. also, the idea that at least a portion of that 60 something percent approval was made up of little old bluehairs gives me a special thrill. while i was in line i heard one old lady talking about it with another old lady and they were both for it. it was an awesomely strange feeling.

i know 5 people who registered to vote just because of question 3. people who have been of voting age for over 10 years and have never bothered to register rolled their crusty asses to the polls today. it makes me happy and sad at the same time.

Hope you're right but this has big gov bureaucracy all over it, they wont let that go.

The arrest is more the issue imo, and highway cops have a big old bag of tricks to establish probable cause for the stop. Once the sample has been taken and lights up for the Devil's parsley, afaik the conviction becomes ... administrative, to use the euphemism. cn

Alright my revised opinion.

This is like a probationary hearing to see if people can deal with MJ. If they pass the test and don't mess up I can see the state giving the rights to the citizens.

As far as the DUI testing goes, they have to be able to prove if some one is impaired driving. This IMO is just to have a "responsible fall back" if others question their motive.

Blood tests are expensive and requires well blood. I cant see a road cop pricking everyone with a diabetes meter just on suspicion.
