R/O cal/mag question in regards to House & Garden Coco

when using R/O water for growing in Coco what ppm level am I shooting for before adding Base A + B coco (house and Garden). In other words, what ppm level should I have my water at before adding base nutrients (house and Garden).

Can I achieve this by adding Cal/Mag?

- I use the House and garden Full line
- My R/0 unit produces pure water 0-10 ppm

also I cant find out there what ppm levels Im shooting for after adding base nutrients and additives. once all nutrients are added if i wanted to raise the ppm level of my water should i just add more A+B to desired ppm level?

The initial waters ppm after it exits the filter is irrelevant. Are you asking what the ppm should be when starting out? Ppm levels(nutrient strength) differ for every stage of growth.

This is just basic guide lines. If your nutrient has its own chart, either on the bottle or on the website follow that.

Seedlings ~no nutes just PH'd water 5.5~ - that's usually two weeks from when you see the tap root of the seed and place it in your system.

Vegetative ~250ppm and you gradually raise it up accordingly all the way up to 1100ppm~ every plant is different and that's basic minimums and maximums. You never do a major nutrient spike. Always gradually bring the nutrients up over the weeks of its life.

The nutrients you are using should have a chart or at least directions.. i do know you need to add A before the B and you can change the ratios. Like a 1:1 or a 2:1 mixing ratio and so on..

The neat thing about hydro is that its very easy to tinker with the system and see how much plants can take.

And just another tip.. always PH the water AFTER you add your nutes. Hope this helps

my schedule looks a bit different but its the same info. i dont really understand your question so much, but just use the RO water, add the 'A' and mix. wait fifteen minutes. add 'B'. pH your solution and add additives. thats all there is to it. its what i do and have no problems.

Iv used H&G full line in my DWC system for the past 2 years, so I know how the feed chart works. But during this time i'v just used the hard water from my house. This time around im switching to COCO and I have upgraded to an R/O system so i figured to start messing around with a ppm meter. Also by now using an R/O system im missing out on the cal/mag that is present in hard water. should i be adding cal mag to my res or is there enough in the H&G coco A+B?

Your welcome!! With my brand of nutes i might need to use cal/mag as well but with additives just follow the bottles directions add them after you add the base nutrients as another user has stated above
