Please help ASAP Hi I've just acquired a basement underneath a shop now the shop is still open as usual the owner has asked me to do it but in the basement there are no air blocks or vents at all its like a solid chamber, no where to have a inlet or outlet so I was thinking of installing an air con unit in the shop floor and just have the ducting running directly throw the floor boards is this possible any help would be very very helpfull

Ok what type of ac would u recommend the basement is 50meter cubed would it be possible to run the inlet and the outlet off the same ac unit?
Well I'm planing on doin 80-100 10 litres pots but may have to do less depending on this problem So I.d have a ac unit in the shop floor sucking cold air down into the basement as my inlet and then I,d have the outlet coming out of a different hole up from the basement into the shop? What will the co2 bring to the table does it help with temp etc, due to the shop being open would it work if I bought three carbon filters and three fans two just to be purifier the air b4 it goes throught the last filter and out the outlet so in a way the air has been purified 3 times more is that right? Well you need CO2 because you wont be bringing air in from outside. so itll all be oxygen rich which is not good for the plants haha
when it comes to carbon filters you only need one per fan because it will clean it enough. but you would probably need about 3 depending on how many lights you got going
how many do you plan on running and what wattage?

also how much money do you have to throw at this operation?

Hi bud I'm looking at 15 - 20 600w hps I've already got about 15 grands worth of equipment but there just euro lights wings not air cooled hoods? In regards to lights I'm stuck until I know how much air ventilation I can create I've been thinking off just drilling loads of 10m holes I the floor to the side of the shop floor and stitch my ducting upto the under side of the floor boards so I will suck fresh air into the basement and I was thinking of doing the same for the out let on the other side of the room and running that all the way up through the shop and into the flat above and box the duckting in with timber so it can't be seen think that might work? How do I put pictures up so u can have a better idea of my problem?

no,no,.no.Little holes won't help.Plus you don't want a chance of a leak(light or water).Water could drip on your lights etc. causing death to your equipment any maybe you

whats above the ceiling of the basement where the drill bit will poke into? Whats that space?
It will be coming up into the shop floor drawing fresh air down and into the basement and another one as an out let but run the ducting right up into the flat above and box it in with timber? I can't really see any other way of doing it can I get a ac unit down there with two hoses on one for the in let and one for the outlet

You wont have a choice to cut atleast 2 x 8'' wholes through the ceiling into the shop then out side . U can even build a box in the shop along the outside wall to pass your ducting through it .. like that no one see's bate silver ducting coming from the basement .

Forget it mate. Without excellent ventilation you will have no chance of managing the heat off that much wattage. 12kw light (that's a lot of electricity to explain away) and all them ballast..... mega heat = proper ventilation. Sorry dude but your gonna have to down size me thinks.
I was dreading that this is my idea I have come up with sucking fresh air from the shop floor bear in mind the shop is open for bussiness and on the opposite side of the room I'm going to have my outlet running up through the shop and exhaling in the empty flat above and box all the ducting in so u can't see anything and also put a sort of grill over the floor for my inlet to fix to? What do you boys think might work

The air has to come from outside or you wont have healthy plants ! the minimum u can do is have an a/c throwing outside air indoors... and as of ur output yes if u can manage to have it go 3rd floor and heat that area there's no problem .. Is it winter where you live ?
