Hey guys. I'm new to this, and figured I'd share my setup. I just got my Advanced LED DS100 in the mail. Unfortunately it looks like 4 of the 50 diodes are not lighting up :-? so I'll probably have to send it back (hopefully their warranty is as good as it says) but I set it up to see how it looked. I have two 23 watt (1600 lumen) CFLs hitting from the side also. Until now I had them above for veg.

10 plants of sensi star in one tub (don't worry, they're all female, they came from clones).

How's it look? Anything I need to be doing differently?

Also, I'm a little paranoid about posting photos on this site. Am I crazy?

You could drop that light down closer to the plants
It says in the instructions that the light should be 20-24" above the canopy. I don't have a measuring tape on me but it looks like about 24", I'll get a tape and double check and see about maybe lowering it down.

Turns out I'm an idiot. I sent advancedLED this photo and they informed me that the ones that look like they're not working are the IR diodes. IR is of course not visible to the human eye, so they look just like they should, and the green and white one are also supposed to be there.

From my understanding LED doesn't really bring alot of heat. so i would forsure lower your light. also 10plants in 1 tub? you are not scared for root limitation? also the cfl on the sides are kinda pointless. the lumas do not stack.
but i like the idea and the pics! i hope everything goes well for your grow.

also you might want to check out the difference in bud production on led vs cfl. it seems you want to save money on pge cost. if your not. i would recommend moving to an hps ^^ good luck!

I lowered the LED about 6". If I want to go lower I'll need to get some cable.

The 10 plants in one tub idea was from a friend of mine who has been growing for awhile. The idea is to let it form more of a big weed bush with all the roots becoming interlocked. Will it work? I'll know soon enough.

As for the CFLs in the side, I only put them there because I had them anyway, so I thought if some extra light was hitting the plants from the side it would help because it would light up the area under the canopy a lot more. If you really think it won't do anything at all maybe I'll just take them down.
