when to harvest?

I'm having trouble deciding when to harvest. The strain is ak48 and I'm on day 53 or 12/12. I have read everything I can on harvesting and I'm not seeing anything that I should.

Some people say judge by the hairs, but mine have been red since the 4th week of 12/12.

My trichromes are all capped but are 80% milky and none are amber.

Buds have not swollen.

Calyxes have not swollen but some do have red hairs.

Plant has not show and signs of yellowing or dying.



Any help you all can offer?

let it go until you start seeing amber trichs. 5-10% amber will be about peak potency

Thanks, I figure a have a bit of time left and I'm fine with that but I'm just trying to figure out when I need to start my final flush as well.

i wouldnt worry about flushing, its a big waste of time bro. from what your saying i would say they have anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks left. flushing is for toilets best of luck

I've been reading that sometimes the trichs won't turn amber. Is this true? If so then how do you know when to harvest?

I have never seen amber 'trichs' on AK48 either.
Harvest window is said to be 48 - 56 days but the trichs are 100% cloudy then. One time a plant showed unmistakable signs of being ready at 48 days. It was drying up and dying and the buds looked good and it was great but usually they don't show signs of being ready and are just harvested on day 56. This is why I am reading on the subject of AK48 and amber trichs, {or lack of them} trying to learn when the best harvest time is. I have about decided to harvest at different times and keep personal records but if the stated harvest window is 48 - 56 days then even if they don't show readiness by day 56, I would be inclined to pull them.
There should be a thread on when to harvest AK48.
