Is it possible to DWC a Christmas Tree?

You can clone according to U.S. Forest Service. Whether or not "I" can is a whole 'nother question.



Hypothetically speaking you can't cut a tree and immediately DWC it in a perfect mixture of nutrients? I'm not talking about optimal growth, but keeping it alive.

Why would that be? Is it the size of the plant?

do you even understand what you are asking? dwc is a style of growing, deep water culture. people clone all different ways and probably most dont use hydroponics at all. you just are not able to get that the tree will not reroot. it will not grow. hell, what do you think that pan of water you keep it in is? that is basically a dwc. now after knowing that, how many times do you remember the tree having roots after xmas and how many times do you remember throwing the tree out right after xmas because it was so dry and dead?

I would say that it is "basically a vase". Mind you, a vase can become a cloner with some species/varietals. Some plants clone with disgusting ease, which explains the popularity of certain houseplants ... but the woody ones don't afaik. cn

So basically, it will take too long to root so it will die before it happens? or is it just impossible altogether ? just curious.
