I lived in my car as a teen and pb&j was all I ate; bread from the bread thrift store. When I got into a studio apt., I ate rice with mustard for a few months too. I NEVER spent money on weed or beer. Hell, when I did get my first check from my job, I splurged and bought a bag of cool ranch doritos. That was my treat until I built a nest egg. Hard to feel sorry for some people. THIS is why I do not give to homeless people, unless it's a woman who is not begging everyday at the same intersection.

If he's telling the truth I don't think he even understands poverty. He's one of those people that always expects someone else to bail him out. Every time his prospects go south he runs to mommy and daddy. Even now his mom his enabling him. He'll learn. It will probably take a major ass kicking to do it but he'll learn.

well, yes, i've expected people to bail me out before. Like the general manager of the drilling company I first worked for out in North Dakota. I paid him back the $500 :) But no, nothing really has been given to me- no cars, no money, etc. I did travel a lot as a child though, vacations were plentiful the house was always warm and food was always in the fridge. we live in a nice, 1600 sq ft house. My dad's 7 other properties are rentals
