I have no experience with any of those. If you want an opinion ill give you one. I like to stick to name brand products lumatek hydrofarm etc not for the name but the warranty that's with it. Some ballast can't run certain bulbs. I understand money can be an issue that's why I don't know about those sometimes you get what you pay for read many reviews before making your purchase

Go with the first. It puts out 55,000 lumens from the hps bulb, as they claim. Thats enough to grow 8 plants well, or 6 plants really well. The second is nice in that it has both mh and hps, but the mh bulb puts out 38,000 lumens. I get the idea- use MH for veg then use HPS for bloom. That's all good, but more lumens = bigger, more productive plants. You can always add supplemental 100watt cfl lighting in single-bulbs spotlights from home depot or lowes. This will add several thousand lumens per bulb of light in the 4000K+ spectrum, and reduce how leggy your plants would get if kept only under hps. Go with the first.

I was leaning towards the digital too... also it states this "30% additional "BLUE" spectrum combined with high "RED" spectrum creates the correct balance for MAXIMUM PLANT GROWTH". so i was thinkning it would be ok to use in both stages. Plus it can run both hps and mh bulbs i guess i just wondering if its a good purchase

Well, no HPS can reach anything near the blue spectrum. Probably a tiny cfl or LED light in there so they can say that. Either way, hps alone will do fine. You'll just have to get used to the yellow/orange tint of everything in the room.

If money is an issue, then the digital is probably better... though there are a lot of opinions out there. One thing I did not like about it is that it has a fan to it. You will need to keep it clean so that it does not run the motor down and possibly over heating the unit... which brings me to the other aspect that the only way to clean it is by blowing dust (unless you feel secure enough to open the metal housing) through to the other side which means the dust can possibly collect over the electrical circuitry which can also cause a malfunction. Remember, you will be running a lot of hours on this. If you can remote the ballast outside of the grow area, then I would get a fan-less one. I purchased a Solis-Tek 600 watt that I have almost 300 hours on and it is running like a champ so far... though 300 hours is chump change in the growing field LOL. If you can run some 6700K cfls on the side, I would do that to help with the 'stretching' that an HPS during vegetation can cause.. though the additional 'blue' spectrum may help there.

I have 6 cfls right now i am using that i will continue to use with the light...the fan i thought was a great plus until i saw you post lol but i always love opinions and will def check some other models out...i plan on making my purchase right now and everything must stay in the grow room since it is kinda a stealth grow
