Is it always better to fim than top?

Is there any reason top mid node, as opposed to topping at a node? Seems like fim'ing gives a more balanced growth.

Fimming stresses the plants less and produces more tops. Always try to fim instead of top.

I like fim because more often than not, I am happy enough with the one cut I made rather than topping again and again. I end up flipping lights quicker than topping multiple times.

I get some unusual tangling and delayed growth sometimes when I FIM. I like the FIM results better when it doesn't do that. Topping seems to give me more consistent results.

fim if you want 4-6 possible tops. or top two get 2-4 tops.

It's not exclusive.

You can do either for...either.
