Sick World

Yep you're right, registering all guns will solve gun crimes.

Yesterdays attacker used his mothers REGISTERED handguns..

This whole gun registering argument is fucking stupid.

Because criminals care about gun regulations.
There was no argument, it's just an opinion. My real problem is people not being able to store their guns properly for wtv reason. Especially around an autistic person.

I still really fail to comprehend the whole situation as I refuse to watch the news.
It just makes me sick to think someone can go to that level.
Innocent kids.
Damn.

that was exactly my point concering the initial comments regarding tightening of weapons laws. theres not much if anything at all you can do to stop criminals or psychopaths from obtaining and using weapons stolen or otherwise. but if tightening up some of the current weapons law stops even one crime from happening to me its worth it. but if some coward wants to commit a heinous act he will find a way of getting ahold of a gun regardless of the laws

i've also kept the news here to a very minimum. my wife had a talk with my daughter who is 6 about what to do if theres ever an emergency in her school. it kills me to think that it could have just as easily been her classroom full of 6 and 7 year old kids. f*cked world we r living in

I have also kept the news to a minimum and have even avoided these threads. These sociology/psychology issues facing our society have been my life's study and a great part of my past employment. That said, I only ask that as this matter comes and goes as a topic, that you look to your children and ensure them that you and others are concerned about their safety.

Finally, let me assure you that this is not just a "gun" nor "American" problem. I had woke that same morning to read this: http://www.cnn.com/2012/12/14/world/asia/china-knife-attack/index.html My educated opinion of both these incidents, separated by half a day and half the world, do not differ that greatly regardless of the weapon or local.

All we can do at this point is to morn with and support the victims ...

I think I've reached my breaking point. After yesterday and today, I need to protect myself and my loved ones. My girlfriend was robbed at gunpoint tonight. Horrifying experience for her and me as the dude that answered told me that he just fucked my girl. What a sadistic human being. She is okay. Wasn't harmed just shaken up.

I should clarify, they took her phone, I got a weird call from it, and called back and a dude answered and said he just fucked my girlfriend. We know where the phone is thanks to the find my iPhone app, police won't do anything. I did drive by the house it's at and lay on my horn thouh..

Cops are fucking worthless when it comes to real crime. Getting robbed by gunpoint ain't shit, and if you know where the robber is, it doesn't matter. But have some thc in your system when you're pulled over, or smell like pot, or have a neighbor call the cops because you and and your girlfriend are arguing, the cops will do whatever they can to take someone to jail. My cousin caught some dudes breaking into his mom's car/other cars around the neighborhood, called the cops, the cops were there with the guys, and no arrests were made.

that sucks RDMI... crazy that you know where the phone is located. the cops may not show up there to help you, but I bet firemen could make it there eventually. glad you didn't do anything dangerous.

It would take everything in my power to not make that situation worse RD-MI.
Setting the house on fire and shooting them as they come out is probably a bad decision, I would want something more effective than that anyway.
It's hard to imagine just how bad Detroit will get.

Yeah man. He called me back later claiming by girl tried to buy crack from him and he gave it to her and she didn't have money so he stole her phone. Trying to have me come pay for non existent crack so he could probably rob or shoot me.

Yeah, it's a major wake up call my girl for sure. I had tried to get her to not stop anywhere in the hood after dark, but she had to run out for something and didn't want to go the extra mile to the suburbs. She has never lived in a spot like Detroit. Just us saying watch out wasn't enough. For me, I'm going to immediately take steps to protect her and myself.

Nothing quite like a $100 chevette parked in dudes living room!

Sorry to hear about this, my wife and I awoke during a home invasion a few years ago. Brainfuck! Even though I know who was involved it has completely fucked my chance of living in southern Colorado with a clear head. Have to be honest, there have been a few shady individuals that damn near got knocked out just for making me feel uncomfortable. That is not who I am, but go ahead and see if I don't react prematurely.

Wish there was some way to give back piece of mind. Take care of her in the days to come. I'm a grown man and the thoughts that go though my head when the dogs bark at night are not going away soon!

that kid was crazy. so he didnt give a fuck. but a criminal that doesnt wanna get caught and has their mind somewhat intact will most likely buy a gun off the street that way if the gun is ever found, it cannot be traced back to the person. In this case the kid was absolutly nuts, can't really stop something like this from happening. I dont see a way anyways.

Damn dude that's messed up! I've kicked around the idea of buying a pistol before for protecting my family/home. I have kids, so the thoughts go thru my mind about my kids getting a hold of the gun and something bad happening to one of them, but then I think to myself that I would never forgive myself if some deranged nut broke in to our house with weapons and I had no means of protecting my family. It's an issue where there just isn't a right answer for me, and I wrestle with it often. I couldn't see myself ever carrying a gun around out in public, but if something like what happened to your girl went down with my wife, I may even consider a cpl. I don't know ..... it's a fucked up world we live in.

I hope your old lady is OK.

That's where penalties (jail time) needs to be much stiffer for people caught with illegally obtained guns. All these little hoodlums running around Detroit with guns that aren't registered to them need to spend some serious time in prison thinking about it. Empty our prisons of all non violent drug offenders, and fill them back up with punks like the guy who held up Rare D Mi's old lady.
