what the fuck did i smoke ?

so randomly i bought a bag of weed off a stranger ( i havent done that in about 15 years ) that looked and smelt propper nice weed , the smell was very strong allmost a mixture of cheese and haze , so i get home and start making a joint , its really nice and light green seems a lil damp but not to much and crumbles nicely , i spark it up inhale and bam its totally disgusting , its like a perfume kind of taste or like id imagine pot-puri to taste if you smoked it, the thing is after tasting it , that dank kind of smell now smells more like chemicals to me and im thinking this must be some kind of legal high ? is there legal high out there that looks and smells like weed ? ive been smoking 20 + years and this fooled me proper good .

Are you sure it's just not the taste of the bud? Pack another smoking device and see if it tastes the same, could've been your papers maybe? Maybe you had some weird shit on your hands before you rolled the joint.

nah man me and a couple of long time smokers at work ,made a huge joint of it and none of us would smoke more than a couple of pulls on it , wish we had a scope to check for trichomes , at first i thought shit man hes had that weed stored with something perfumed , but the more i smell that shit burning the more im convinced its a chemical smell .

i stopped buying from people when i got here. it just seemed like a waste of time. you give them a 20 for some dank get it and now you Have to smoke them out and be willing to return the favor and what not. grow it instead it will save money

i took a few good hits , and i had a stupid grin on my face i couldnt wipe off for a few minuites , we all giggled for a few minuites but then it was gone , could of just been a placebo who knows , i wasnt going to smoke much more of that stuff to find out, it wasnt nice inhaling it , the best way to describe it was like smoking pot puri .

My guess.... this is what happened...

it was originally GOOD weed... then the weed was next too cologne or perfume and it absorbed the taste... I found this out the hard way.. had a small bag in my cars console where my cologne is... it never leaked but it sure did absorb the smell.. had to toss it..

none of us could say for sure , wether it was good weed that had been stored with some kind of perfume, that had contaminated it , or it was a legal high bud that looks and smells like good weed untill you smoke it .

i think someone had alot of this stuff and it was very stinky ,(it still stunk my car up ) and they came up with some great idea of trying to mask the smell with some kind of perfumed substance , that leeched the package and contaminated the weed

In the 80's some friends and I were approached by a stranger claiming to have Thai stick. It looked like really compressed bud, rolled up, and it smelled like weed. When we hit it, it was much like you described. We tossed it out and figured it was some kind of potpourri too. Lesson learned. We went back and looked for that MF for hours. Glad we never found him, or I might still be sitting in a cell.
