Plant problem!!! Maybe overwatering?

I can't tell if my plant is being over watered. It's only the new growth oat about 3 weeks into flowering.

Light: 400 watt HPS
( 12/12 hours )

Nutes: general hydro 3 part

Strain: no clue bag seed
( sativa )

Pot: 5 gal

Soil: FFOF

pH: not sure don't have a pen

PPM: are around 800

temp : never over 79

any help and advice will be very much appreciated. I also may think it could be nitrogen imbalance. Definitely not to much cause all the leaves are dark green and healthy looking beside the fact of the top growth. I was thinking to much nitrogen, but growth doesn't have seem to slow down at all. So I not sure what it could be.

You're well into flower so cut out any N - if you've been using it give them a flush - straight water. But DON'T give them a flush before sussing this first, because I reckon that's another simple case of over watering - are your pots heavy to lift? Wet to touch on top? Do you let them dry out significantly between waterings?

You can still feed small amounts of N during flower. I feed N up until week 6 if needed. Just using minimal amounts to keep them green. They do look overwatered. How close is your light to the tops?

You should feed a lower dose of N all the way through to final flush - but if he's been using higher ratio N to PK for veg time then he should flush residual and start with high ratio K to NP - but that's not it anyway - it's too much water - there's a lot of it about....

watering is the most important part of the grow. when watering, soak the root ball until runoff. do not water again until the soil dries about an inch from the top of the soil. over watering causes more plant decline than anything else. GL

Yeah I've been giving it a N still. It's on about week 3 of flowering. I was talking to a buddy of mine said it calling "clawing" from over fert. So he said flash it for a while then start it back up on a more k to NP ratio. And yeah I let it dry for 3 days now. So I don't think it's still holding any water.

Thanks guys for all the quick reply and for the good info. MUCH APPRECIATED.

Next time put about 25% perlite to let em breath better as well as an ounce per gallon of soil domolite lime. The question is how often are you watering? A 5 gal. pot under 400 hps I'd suggest water every 5-7 days. I bet you are watering more often.......Get a ph pen and monitor the water and water/nuts making sure you stay in the 6.2-6.5 (hanna ph pens are 30 ebay). If overwatering is an inbreed issue most newbes need to be doing something to em. Get some Air pots. That should do the trick with the watering issue.

wow thanks man appreciate that. And yeah definitely watering more often then that. I'll cut it back alot with the N as well. Yeah I'm gunna go pick up a PH pen for soil as well as moisture.

Should I flush thou ? And for how long before I start giving it nutes again?

So you have been on the high N to PK - flush out one time, water one more time when needed with straight water and then next watering start on the high K to NP feed. Simples

Good Luck!
