I used to love the one-sentence descriptions of movies in TV GUIDE. The most scathing one I remember is for Clint's High Plains Drifter. The description was "Low-tide leftover." Guess they thought it could have been better.

The other endless source of amusement was the descriptions for the late-night softcore.
"Restless, shapely collegians find distraction."
"Diligent housewives get on their knees in pursuit of dirt." cn

WOW, I remember TV Guide.
That was about 34 years ago, the last issue I got.

I was just laughing, wondering who was the 'booty'.
...this may be half 'sad', but I get some real enjoyment out of watching old tv station intros, things like "this week's 'lineup'" to see what was on back then, or the 'all night show' (that ended at 2...like, wt?) The announcer for every one of those one-line descriptions of the All Night Show was always the same. So awesomely monotone with a touch of swagger :) I had 4 stations growing up, and you had to wait a week before you saw the next episode of anything. Good times! (was one of them, yes :] )

Wasn't that back in the "Hollywood Squares" days?

Those are gold... I'm loving that a quirky nonconformist writer got their way in there and managed to be funny without exactly saying anything they could get fired over.

CATDOG! Those were great, Neo!! I'm old enough to remember the funny TV guide tags, and only having a few black and white channels to choose from....... if your aluminum foil covered rabbot ears could get them...
