what is your method? currently i keep a bowl of water in my dry box so it takes 4-5 days to dry instead of 1-3

do you paper bag it? do you glass jar it?

how do YOU control the dryness of this lovely state

how long you dry for ? do you humidify your dry room? like right now its fricken dry. my meter reads like 20-30%

20-30% is low for my taste. usually wanna shoot for 40+ more like 50-60% if possible. good airflow should take short side of a week.

are you from Colorado? so if you can get the drying room up to 50-60 it takes almost a week? do you have a humidifier in your dry room?

Hang them till the stem snaps. Usually a week with good air and humidity. 20 - 30 % is too low. Put a humidifier in there if needed. Then once the stems snap put them in bags to slow down the cure. At least one week in bags is good. Two weeks even better smoother smoke.
Just my way I use. Tried many others and this works best for me.

nice.. i may have to try this way.. all the other ways i've tried out here is close but no cigar. i broke a cola on monday by accident so i cut it and have been drying it in a shoebox with a cup of water.. it definately slowed it down got it up to about 45-50 and its defintaly drying slower then any other time. but i don't think it will be a week.

what is your take on no fan.. some peeps have been telling me to cut out the air flow when drying in this state.

Shoe box is worse bro. A cure is to slowly release moisture. That shoe box is sucking moisture out of the bud. Plastic bag can't absorb moisture. I keep a slow fan blowing in the room while hanging. Not directly blowing on them. No fan is better IMHO. Long and short, the slower you let them dry and cure the better. So you don't want anything absorbing the moisture quickly. That equals harsh smoke.

i'm just using it for drying and will transfer into a jar or as you do it plastic bag.. but i'm noticing that with it in the shoe box its drying alot slower then if i dry a bud just out int he open room.. its been in there for almost 3 days and the outside fan leaves that are draped over the bud is only now starting to feel a little dry... however once i acutally chop my plant i'll dry in one of the grow boxes with a humidifier in it..

one question, you say the box is bad cuz it draws out moisture.. what about the peeps that use grocery bags (paper)

thanks for your input !! helps ALOT>

zubey, I use to try paper bags and I found the same thing, they dry the bud out too fast. Maybe I did it wrong.
Curing is a controlled slow dry. Paper bags may work for other people but the plastic bag way is the best IMHO. I learned it from an older hippie that has grown a long time.

so i just thought of something. so i agree that paper will pull out moisture faster if its enclosed inside.. but this is just whacked. IF my bud is drying out slower in the shoe box.. that means the outside air is pulling out the moisture faster then in the shoebox.. lol!!!!! i mean we all know its super dry here but dayum..

i understand drying and curing i've done many grows in Pennsylvania but getting the formula correct out here is hard. the bud in the shoebox i just counted will be at 4 days at the end of today.. the fan leaves are definately cupping the bud and are about 50% dry(fan leaves only) so im probably right on track.
