The way I understand it, states have the option every 2yrs. That is, to vote it into their state constitution. At a federal level, what we really need is for cannabis/THC to be removed from the Schedule 1 list, and that could be done at any time. Not at any time, like we should be expecting results soon, they're too occupied by the fact that they can't manage a budget, and anti-gun people are all pissed off.
There isn't a set outcome, and previous criminals probably won't be forgiven of their actions. I don't see how cannabis/THC would be completely free from a controlled substance regulation. So, it will still be limited to 18+ or 21+, and might still come with stipulations surrounding workman's comp, etc.Say there djwimbo what if at any time cannabis does get rescheduled what possible repercussions will follow then in terms of cannabis laws?
From what I hear, the feds have 150,000 acres to grow cannabis on, once they decide to lift the prohibition ... cigarette companies are prepared as well.thanks dj, I would like to add though imo, I dont think the fed. gov. will reschedule mj or legalize it unless enough states legalize the recreational use of mj(25-50). If that many states legalize the recreational use of mj, the fed. gov. will not have enough man power to stop it. Plus what are they gonna do? Randomly raid peoples homes? If they did, People would be getting pissed the fuck off(mj users and non users alike) and something would happen. Thats the only way I see marijuana becoming 100% legal in the fed. gov. eyes.
I forget what his percentage was, but as long as the average person only sees a presidential election as being between two people, it will inevitably fail.im a huge fan of ron paul btw. its too bad he didnt get elected..
It has to be 3/4th of the states as stated in article five of the consitituion of the united states. There isn't a set outcome, and previous criminals probably won't be forgiven of their actions. It won't be an easy task to get 25+ states to legalize recreational use. What is more likely, is 25+ states to approve medicinal use. If we can get >25 states to approve medicinal use, then by majority, it should be removed from the Sch-1 list. In order for any substance to be "Schedule 1" it has to have "No medicinal qualities" as well as a couple other requirements. If >25 states have approved it, they cannot deny that it has been reclassified, but it still won't be a quick and simple process.
... Vote Ron Paul?
I still don't think that would be a final solution, but it might help. I don't think our current president wants to be the one to end prohibition.
