pic's of the issue please! could be nut burn or heat issue hard to say without pic's of issue as for the ants get your self a plant safe insect spray

you need to pipe some fresh air into your closet to control the temps, a simple exhaust fan will do.

as for the ants, there is a powder called diatomaceous earth which you can sprinkle on the area where they are walking and it will safely kill the ants but wont hurt your plants. I even mix it in with my soil mix to keep any unwanted insects from colonizing the soil.

I think the problem is 1000w HPS in a closet is going to generate an extreme amount of heat. People have trouble keeping temps low in a small room w/ 1000 watters.. let alone a closet. Your going to need to use an air cooled hood and a 6'' 400+ cfm fan constantly running to keep that baby cool. You will also need fresh air intake as well. What is the closet size? I would have gone for a 600W HPS instead.

Yea, if you are using 1Kw in a closet, without exhaust, you are going to have issues. How big is the closet?

I get ants every year indoors. I use this stuff faithfully. As soon as I see them buggers, I fill a few bottle caps, and set them around where I see them most. They will eat it up, and bring it back to the queen. Whole colony gone in a few days.

I'm going to suggest a 8" exhaust fan attached to a carbon scrubber for smell and to move enough air to create negative pressure to keep the heat out...,
I'm also going to suggest that the burn you see on your leaf is either due to you dripping nutrient water on that leaf or possibly due to wind burn... was the fan blowing hard on that particular side of that plant?... nute burn is only at the tips of the leaves, Light burn is at the tips and ridges... and wind burn is on one side of a plant (the side faceing a fan)...

and the light 3ft away sounds about right... if you see the leaf ridges curling up move the light up a inch or two

Hope that info helps

well the new black fan i just put it up yesterday i want to higher light but can due to size of closet because i cant make holes in walls and i got the light hanging from the clothes hanger bar. also i have he ballast on 50% dimmer. and as of right now temperature says 77 degrees but last night it was at 89 degrees when i was sleeping. someone please help i spent my life savings and need to make sure it goes good. also for nutrients i give them 0.8 of tsp is that ok? also 2 of my plants r planted in 11/1 and the other 4 was planted on 11/20 and was wandering if i could just start blooming it. the 2 big ones r about 1.5 ft tall and others are at about 8 inches

90 degrees isn't going to kill them... it sucks, but isn't the end of the world.... at and aboce 100 is a real problem though...

you didn't specify what nutes your using, so it's impossible to tell what .8 of tsp is...

if it's as crowded as you say, with 2 plants being 1.5ft tall, then it's time to flower...

The smaller plants you can feed with a little calmag for the first week and they'll catch up a bit...

you posted old pic on page 1, pic does not show plants 1.5ft tall, also angle is crap... hard to see length of plants from that angle..

also i found 1 of the leaf turning yellow and the nutrients i been giving them is ph perfect 3 step with the monkey in front

also 1 of my plant is tall as my other 1 but doesnt have much leaves on it as my other 1 does that mean its male?
no telling if it's male untill it grows balls at the nodes...

since your plants are pretty stacked, I'd raise the light a little and try to get them to stretch out some... otherwise you won't get good light penetration..., you can pinch the tops off to help get more heads too... deleaf the underside a bit too... too crowded in there...
'
that type of plant is best done as a sea of green...flipped 10 12hr as it is 8 inches or less and flilled in with lots of plants... my generall rule is the bushyier a plant is, the shorter it should be flowered... and the more of them for the canopy...

ok ty also when u say pinch u meant literally hopefully my pics were good ones also im afriad to cut bottom leaves cause i didnt want to dmg plants. also should i be flowering them now? cause as of right now i still have all of them on vegging.

also i started all these from seeds
