Bedtime update. And to answer the one question I noticed via mongos quote you have been told wrong about CO2 (it may be possible for that to be true with higher or steady levels of added CO2, but it's not true for regular CO2 use like candles, or dry ice, etc.). All plants need CO2, and if you don't have a CO2 meter then there is no harm in adding some CO2 just to make sure there is really any at all.
