Did I top my plant right??? <with photos>

Thanks for reading... I am a first time grower...I had just topped my plant 3 days ago and this new growth is starting to come in??? I thought that it wouldnt grow there anymore?? I cut it down really<...really<...low also...It is 8 inches in height...Sex unknown...Top quality bag seed.....All nodes are less then an inch apart..5 nodes total...The under growth is coming in nicely;..I think... I tried to top it...but i was told that i fimmed it because i have knew growth coming back from where i cut it... here is a better pic..yu can see the tiny growth coming back..

looks great man, you did just fine, i topped a test plant that i kept in the corner of the room with my precious little angel for s&g by grabbing the top leaves and mashing between my fingers and shes coming alone fine,two headed plants ftw. those two little sprouts you see are going to grow out into a Y shape in the next few days and youll know for sure you did it right.
I even topped her about a week into flower to see what it would do...not much shes got maybe 5 g dry on her .....but i know know i can top a plant and it doesnt take more than escaped light from the rear of a box,run off water and reused dirt to grow a couple bowls
