These are some pics of my plant, Hope. The first picture is of the lower leaves. The second pic is of the top leaves where the main colas are. As you can see, the older leaves seem to show some sigs of discoloration. I diagnosed it as MG deficiency but the epsom salts water didnt really do anything. Anyone got any other ideas of what it could be? Please help me out, my baby is in its third week of flowering and I dont want nothing bad to happen to her.

Epsom salt is magnesium sulfate, MgSO4. Totally safe to spray on plants if diluted enough. It adds magnesium and sulfur. I add it un my ro water frequently, and it wont build up in soils the way some other salts will. Do not think that anything called a "salt" is NaCl. As i would hope no one is using table salt.

Yeah it works better when foliar fed. But back on topic, anyone got any idea what that discoloration could be? Could it be genetic?

Well its been like that for a few weeks now. It is the reason why I even started foliar feeding in the first place.

the salt in top romen is hexameta phosphate, it still tastes and acts like salt. your plant looks like its magnesium deficient, and it also looks like the water is getting sucked out of it really fast, from salt. keep it simple man, dont spray salt water onto the plant you plan on smoking one day

Well, arent epsom salts magnesium sulfate? I looked around various forums and articles and a lot of people recommended epsom salts to treat MG deficiency. But do you have an alternative way of getting some MG into my plant?

I have always heard of putting epsom salts in the top layer of your soil so when you feed you feed through them, and it dissolves SOME.

I would NOT spray them foliarly, but that's just me.

Excess, yes, obviously. That is where they are designed to absorb those nutrients from though. Nitrogen is the only foliar i would even consider using, as long as you keep the dosage low so the ph doesn't drop dangerously low. Leaves are designed to absorb gases naturally, not magnesium.

It may work, I don't know. I still would never do it, the idea doesn't make sense to me.

You think it might be rootbound? I dont know since I put it in the 1 gallon pot, it had a pretty nice growth spurt. She was 4 inches when I switched her to flowering and then I went away for the week. When I came back she was 8 inches. And the buds are growing every single day. Either way I simply dont have the space for anything bigger. Shes already huge for the box she takes up like half of it by herself.

Thanks for your advice. I will try your method then since mine isn't really working. The people I got it from say that leaves show signs of improvement within a day or two and they are exactly the same as they were yesterday. And by now I am pretty sure its an MG issue. How much epsom salt do you recommend I use on the soil?
