I have a plant that has been under 12/12 light for 10 days now and im reverting it back to Veg. It has not shown any flowers yet, so Im told this should go back to veg more quickly. I want to veg it so the root system gets bigger as well. But, will my root system grow faster under 24/0 light or 20/4 light? i heard that the root system grows more at night. Is this true? My purpose of doing all this is to make my plant yeild more since This is the ONLY plant that I will have under my 400watt hps and I dont want to run my light for a small plant/yeild because that would be very inefficient.

ps: the plant has 5 shoots now. I topped it and lst'ed it. So it should have 5 main colas. it is now in a 8-10 gal container as pictured. and Also now under 60 watts of cfl's.

Thanks for your help in advance.

PS., If it's only one plant, I think you could do fine with CFL's to re-veg, I did 1 plant in a 2x2 area, with 98w of CFL's, and she came out nice.
Looking again at your first post, I have noticed that my whole plant grows more during dark than light cycle, and throughout the veg of 30 days, I did nothing besides a little LST'ing, but topped about a week after the flip, but with all the tying and what not, it looks like I will have quite a few colas. :)
BTW, this is a MG grow.
This is at 30 days of veg, and 30 days since the flip.jan7pic1_zps82fc7cd5.jpg

18/6 will be fine, plants like a little 'rest' period too.
I agree 18/6. You have alot of soil to veg a lot longer if you wanted to. Since you topped it, you can train it to be a more open plant for your 400 watt light. Your not going to want the plant to tall because you only have a 400watt light. The shorter the distance the light has to travel the better. Usually the bigger the plant the bigger the yield.

Yeah my plan is to veg the fuck outta her and create a big root mass to produce some of the thickest buds I have ever seen....In order to make the yeild worth running my 400 watt hps. I mean Im only gonna have 5 colas under my hps. sooo im guessing if I have a giant root mass and veg the shoots a little taller and then flip the lights I should have some of the thickest freakin buds around, right? i mean the fucker is in a 10 gal container/pot. And when I took it out of the 3 1/2 gal pot the roots were very well established. Thin. but the whole 3 1/2 gal of coca coir was held together by its roots.

i just asked a member and he said it will probably take a whole month of vegging before its STARTS to show more growth again. I hope its not that long.

I took cuttings from my previous grow 3 weeks into flower and the cuttings showed growth in under a month. I'd still expect to be patient!
