I picked up 2 through unions (laborer and carpenters) and 3 through the NCCER program. I also am a union longshoreman but there are no cards there.

SAD's affects this guy. It messes me all up. After 30 years of dealing with it though, I've figured out ways to keep my mind at bay. Lots of RIU, lots of smoking, lots of metal hallide lighting.

No google, personal experience. Get this: It may be waaaay out there for some in AK, but I found that vitamin D is the most essential thing to sup for yourself in the north. I lived there my man. High skool, than off and on for 19 more. I like the winter there too. Women can't run as fast when I chase them.

BTW - Glad they caught that guy who killed that poor girl in the coffee shack. Want to ask me a question that isn't googleable? (new word!!) to prove my worthiness?

strong work bro. I only have 1 journeyman card and only belong to 2 unions. You're making me feel so inadequate. Please don't look at my vagina so closely.

Sitting under metal hallide lamps is my solution. Or a tanning bed. Works pretty good actually.

Yeah, that israel keyes guy killed himself in jail. Glad he's gone.

NCCER is a good way to get cards. It was a free program to take advantage of while I was employed on the slope, so, I did the core books, the trade books, tested out and got my cards in the mail.

I'm trying to decide what trade I want to get into next... I'll probably get all my welding certs eventually.

For some reason my "like" button is missing in action. Well I'm just glad you've been here and enjoyed this awesome place. I'm glad the p.o.s. that killed the coffee shack barista killed himself; saved AK a lot of money. Question: why are we getting screwed on snow this year when we got 139" last year? I just want to go skiing; is that too much to ask? BTW, I was at Alyeska new years day when the gondola impaled itself onto something; fortunately my son and I were using chair 4.

Why? because i was on the slope last year and missed all the good snow. im off the slope this year, guess who is getting all the good snow? the dumbass slope lol

Since you sound like you have some carpentry skills, I'd suggest my union. IATSE. Many many decent paying jobs in the entertainment industry which you can both work hard AND have fun with. Shit, I've met so many famous people through my work its not even funny. My brief conversations with folks like Al Gore, Tommy Chong, and Bob Weir (asshole) during work are nice icings on the cake.

Damn it man, I can't think of that mother fuc... who killed a Native gal in a storage shed , got away with it, then killed his next door neighbor lady and dumped her body by talkeetna somewhere. Anyways I am so glad he is behind bars. Just to give you an idea how long ago I was there: I was in HS when Gravel went missing. I was there drinkin and fuckin around in 82 when Mr Hansen was doing his thing. Bought donuts from him.

Are you talking about bethany correria? I worked with her father. Even years later he is still really beat up about it. Poor guy.
